Did anyone see when Schneider was about 40m out from goal, after getting a handball from someone (Either early in the 3rd, or 2nd) - tried to kick it to Steven instead of having a shot and it just dribbled out of bounds.

But the worst is the amount of times we kept it in our 50 for about 5minutes, then kicked it to a Geelong player - they proceed to run it to 50, and goal in about 30 seconds.

Not to mention the first 10minutes of the second quarter, when our team didn't realise the game had started.

Siposs anyone? I'll take 8 perfect 50m bullet passes from him over 15 handballs to no one from Gamble.

I think that was putting it mildly.
I reckon tonight would have been a record for the number of marks a side took directly from kicks from the other team. Geelong may as well have just let us get the ball in the middle, so that we could kick it straight to them and let them run it out of their backline and pinpoint their own passes forward.
With decent ball use we could have won fairly comfortably, given that we were still within a couple of goals early in the last, in spite of our diabolical kicking.
Our ball use was LAUGHABLE. Geelong were just professional, in pretty much everything they did. It was like watching a well coached, professional team, playing an amateur team who tried really hard, but just didn't have the skills or gameplan, to be able to compete.

What a spud Jason Gram is.... Couldn't hit the backside of a barn that bloke. He looks done as an AFL footballer.

Gram has always been guilty of long bombs to nobody.

But he used to run the lines well, now he doesnt do that...and still long bombs to nobody.

Usefuless expired.

No doubt the boys gave 110% effort last nihght. "But the skills."

I know that it is very easy to look back in hindsoight, but this is what I put on a thread as far back as December last year.

"Looking at last year's clangers and suggested player positional movement, there seems to be a need for a specialist Kicking Skills Coach, even if only for the pre-season. Alternatively, a lot more practice built into training programmes.

It's called "foot"ball. Any thoughts?"

I firstly blame the Recruiters for getting so many with poor skills. Next, I blame the Football Dep't. for not putting in enough time on the track to improve the poor kickers that we know.

I was simply in awe of the Geelong kicking skills last night.

I just hope that come draft/trade time we put a high value on kicking skills.
If they can't kick don't recruit them

I love this club
