Media Moment: Sam Gilbert will be on SEN Morning Glory (1116) at 7:30am tomorrow.

coming up to his 100th game I look forward to seeing how he handles this
he appears to be basicly a shy guy and the past 6-12 mths would have been tough.

100 games at only 24 for someone who hadn't touched a footy until he was 16, pretty amazingâ€¦ He's got some good footy in front of him yet, hopefully we see it soon.

No let's trade him, I mean after all he's played a few ordinary games and at 24 he's way passed his prime. Let's trade him for an untried 17 yo from GWS.

Seems you're not alone in your suggestion BBMD.

Others have even suggested we should trade him for a big VFL Forward/Ruckman currently on Geelong's list.

I suppose when you've got a player as bad as Gilbo you really have to take whatever you can get!

24 years of age and 100 games for a 194cm, 90kg player who plays his best footy off a half back flank.

His performance over those 100 games has shown us what he is capable of.

We need to put him where he plays his best football and lock that position down.

I have a view that his tailing off in effectiveness has been post Clarke's injury problems and Gram's injury problems.

What has occurred because of the interrupted selection and form of those 2 players is that Gilbert is our only defender who can actually rebound and is therefore marked.

Fisher holds the fort with his impeccable judgement then distributes (sometimes not too well) whilst Gwilt is damaging because of his precise and penetrating kicking, not his running the lines rebound.

With Clarke and Gram in form, Gilbert's performances will return.

A required player with his best footy in front of him.

The more I think about it, the more Gram's 'absence' stings us. You'd think he'd be more readily replaceable. Perhaps not.

I think Sam was finally coming good in his last game after the pre-season from hell and really didn't need the bye to break the routine. Hopefully he'll pick up where he left off. Hopefully.

Support him. I haven't seen many guys play such good first 100 games for the club.

He's still just a vulnerable kid.

Well done to Gilbo. He's played some great games for us in his 100 and has a lot of flair. He might be in a bit of a slump right now, but he will come good.

Can't understand those who want to trade him - for "who?" There are others who should go ahead of him.
