Rob Harvey is new coach

Interim anyway. Probably a strange appointment given where we are at in the season.

Most experienced assistant, which is a worry really.

Hopefully the new coach gets some quality into the box.

Main job will be to keep the blokes together. Can't think of anyone I'd want more to do that job.

That slug Hutchy just said it was a typical knee-jerk reaction from a bunch of amateurs. As we review our list would have thought a coach (or representative) would need to be involved.

That guy is a dead-set flog....

Flog maybe. But is he wrong? We are now behind the 8 ball.

Actually the more I think about it, the more this is a really good move.

Find me a bloke who bled for the Saints through a huge number of different coaches, who saw them sacked and quit, who rejected offers to join other clubs in favour of loyalty, who worked harder than anyone else to be the best he could, who embodied "red, white and black", who respected and love the legends of the club, who is universally loved by St Kilda people and who has a very neutral and agreeable personality that brings people together ...

You found me Robert Harvey.

Perfect bloke for the club to rally around and ignite loyalty and passion and put things in perspective for the playing group.

They would be doing post-season reviews.....have to have someone to head it up. Reporting to Pelchen no doubt.

Harves has seen Baldock, Sheldon, Alves, Watson, Blight, Thomas and Lyon go through. Would probably be versed in the do's and don't's. of off-season changes of coach.

He may end up as coach next year....not saying that should happen, but....

Are any players leaving of their own accord ?

Need a smart plan and need it quick.
Harves as a rally around focal point is smart.

But eff me ( i thought ross would stay)

Hmmmmmm.

With all this talk about integrity and respect (RL has none now), couldn't think of a guy that has more than banger. Glad he's in charge tonight

Get 20 blokes as fit as the great man was and it's a good pre-season

With Banger as Coach.

And Lenny and Rooey as leaders amongst the players, we'll be right.

These guys are the life blood of the club...were in good hands still.

But really why can't Banger be head coach?

I trust Harvey 100%, you know he will always be loyal to the club.

Give him a shot imo.

I think our current assistant coaches are required, if we need more get more.

Without a real coach, Pelchen will be the one calling the shots.

Banger is just PR to placate the fans.

However with Lyon gone the most critical thing in the here and now is list management.....and so we can count our blessings that we got Pelchen on board wen we did as his main skill is what is requited right now....which is the re-balancing of our list.

Rob Harvey as an assistant from all reports at carlton didnt set the world on fore tactically.

I know we all want to reach for security blankets tonight but he isnt the man to coach us.
