The Be the Future Member Kit, containing a scarf, cap and t-shirt, will replace the free scarf previously provided to all Members and be mailed free of charge upon purchase for $34.95 for kids and $39.95 for adults.

The restructure of fulfilment is expected to save the Club around $400 000 (compared to 2011).

my understanding...social club in 2011

received cap and scarf as part of cost.....redeemed by voucher

2012 will receive Social club medallion

$25 voucher (saints shop)....have to spend minimum 50 to claim

have to pay

FOR 39.95 EXTRA receive cap/scarf/T shirt

PAYING EXTRA
39.95 for tshirt

those not taking it up......

I suppose club saves by not forking out for scarf.....or scar/cap social.

Shame that.

Given the increase in memberships prices anyways, I can't afford to pay an additional $40 per family member to deck them out in the 'current' gear.

2011 scarf looks likely, especially given the club has 2011 caps and scarves out at every opportunity lately!

Maybe if they didn't overorder so much, it wouldn't be such an expense to both budget for, and absorb?

They finish up with literally hundreds of caps ans scarves they people who are entitled to them dont pick up. They then just give them away. I have a box of scarves I will be giving to school kids.

Thousands I reckon, and yep seen them giving out hundreds in recent months.

So don't order such a ridiculous amount then?

That will save money?

The $40 Pack:

Don't mind the scarf and cap, but they could have done more with the t-shirt.

No great loss looking at the cap. My son got his signed each year but there is too much black so no room for signatures. I was going to make a blanket out of my old scarves.

That's what you would expect from the Hun. - anything to bag the Saints even though it's fiction.

Which part exactly? Its what the club has said and its exactly what saints members have to do..

ST KILDA says it will save $400,000 by taking free scarves away from members next season.

Paid-up Saints fans have received a free members scarf and/or cap for several years, but they won't get one next season.

Instead, the club is asking supporters to spend an extra $39.95 ($34.95 for kids) to receive a "be the future member kit" that includes a scarf, cap and T-shirt.

The club estimates the "restructure of fulfilment" will save $400,000 compared to 2011.

St Kilda is expected to announce a loss of more than $1.5 million for 2011.

Wow a new membership "premium interstate" offering automatic social club membership, 11 games in vic and one interstate (among other things) for $250. As a qlder, it might be worth considering as an easier option to get gf tickets (if we were to make it of course).

No social club waiting list?

Can a victorian purchase this membership? It would be a great deal? Maybe have your membership pack sent to uncle Phil up norf.

Hmmm, I note that an interstate membership has increased by $15.00 to cover the cost of "free" entry to one game! It almost makes me chuckle.

Well it is cheaper for me to now do premium interstate

I had paid $330 to see no games in Melbourne now being able to pay $250....

I guess a lot of interstate members will opt for the extra cost for premium...where most only paying the $330 will lower their fees

So from what I have read the membership has increased by $15 ( adult membership 11 games now $190 and we no longer get a scarf.

While the concept of removing the scarf has financial merit (saving $400,000) this combined with the increase sees the average person receiving less benefit and paying more!

It seems to me either
a) the previous memberhsip packages were financially mismanaged and poorly designed
or
b) the club has once again gone to the well to bleed dry the faithful like us who put our hard earned on the line to support them onlyto see poor management and board decisions waste considerable amounts of money.

So much for making the members feel welcome and part of the club!
