Membership renewal.

Post: # 1181433Post Launcestonsaint »

I got my renewal in the mail today. I've been an interstate member for 22 of the last 23 years. Didn't renew my membership the year Grant Thomas decided to stop Banger being captain.
To get the previously free scarf I have to become an Interstate Premium member to be able to purchase the future kit.
The difference between my previous membership & the Premium membership is $140 & then I'd have to pay an additonal $39.95 for a future kit.
To get a scarf, cap & T-shirt to advertise the club I've supported for more years than I'd like to admit, this is a joke.
Good luck to the membership department, I won't be contacting you.

Well just get your normal membership and support the club the same way you did previously. Something tells me you have got enough scarfs.

i dont think that is correct ... you could become a sideline supporter for $50 then add the scarf and tshirt combo for $39 and still be ahead in the money from last years interstate membership ...

i would suggest contacting the membership dept cause i think you have your wires crossed ... the membership dept are now being controled by the club not the AFL so you will get a proper answer quickly ....

all memberships including standard interstate include the Members package - which includes the ability to purchase the be the future pack

But if you don't wish to get the whole pack you can just buy the scarf for $15

Premium Interstate is basicly giving you social club access on top of your interstate membership and therefore access ti Grand final tickets.

so instead of having to buy an 11 game membership + your interstate membership + Social club you just get Premium Interstate.

Nothing on the website suggests to me that you need to be a premium member to purchase a future kit.

But why throw a hissy fit and not contact the club. I contacted them because international memberships had disappeared. I got an e-mail back almost immediately. I also got a PM on here from someone who works at the club.

there are a few people who got trated pretty poorly in the past when talking to the membership dept (mainly cause it was not under the control of the club) i think you will find like a lot of things around the club things have changed for the better ...

I think the confusion comes from the box that has existing package and recommended package. In mine it has an upgrade to a reserved seat and the "future kit" in the recommended package section.
That is the only place where it advertises the future kit. I can understand that some people may read this the wrong way. I don't think it is set out very well.

agree _ I haven't seen one yet
But my Niece queried the position of her social club- but a check against the online membership pages meant we were able to work it out.

It has a column with existing package & another column with recommened package.
It has existing package $110 OR recommened package $250 & the future kit is in the recommended package column.
The existing column has a Full Price $110 & the recommended package has a Full Price of $289.95.

There is no option.

i would suggest 100% for sure entry to a grannie when we get to another one would be a good enough reason to get the premium package.
i mean seriously....

rang em up and changed from melbs m/ships back down to interstate but upgrade to prem interstate and was greeted politely and they changed it even when ive had a deduction already for the old melbs ones from the c/card
credited me the diff back (cost me 8 bucks in admin fees, big whoops)
ordered two kits and asked for two 2011 social club badges, that they said were avl to all sc members last year for free

no probs here

with my nieces the recommended- less the 39.95 - and yes like most sales pitches they will add all possibles- was what it looks like online as a total-
I will just be specific when paying of the pieces I want added
I know I rang when I noted my tally was online and they were more than happy to explain each piece

and then remove any items I not longer wanted to include.

Agree that the mailout isn't too clear - it has only your "existing" package and a "recommended" package, and many other options aren't even listed.
Suggestion - Get onto the membership webpage via www.saints.com.au, look for the options you want, price it out, then call the membership line.

http://www.saintsmembership.com.au/country.php
thats the premium and the normal says nothing about btf packs in either
even in the sc benefits tab down the bottom
nothing about only scers being able to buy btf kits

the kits are there because there is no scarf this year

you want gear you buy the scarf cap hat btf kit for 40 bucks
no matter the membership
thats how im seeing it?
so im guessing you could get a normal interstate and still get a btf

I have the standard interstate membership LS and it renewed without any problems.

I rang the membership hotline and ordered the BTF kit a few days ago, couldn't have made it any easier for me.

My advice is to call them and I'm sure you'll be happy afterwoods.

Why don't they tell us that on the form they send us?
If I hadn't come on this site which I haven't done for ages, I wouldn't have known these facts.

if you're referring to my post, they do say on my letter that going online is an option (under the "how to pay" section).

at the very least this thread has illustrated some good stories / options. happy membershipping.
