Supporter group experiences? International?

Post: # 1185985Post saintbrat »

just wondering if there have ever been any International Supporter groups
those OS- have you found like minded Sainters to connect with.

those in Country or Interstate do you look for fellow Saints to watch games or extend experiences?

or do you prefer to ' do you own thing'?

I left Aus in 2005 - I basically spend all my time at sea so really I have used Sainsational to keep in touch with what is going on since then. Can be a bit of a pain sometimes because the internet feed is so slow but at least it is something and definately better than nothing.

Thanks to all.

Got a flag in my 2009 membership package which had "International Supporters Group" written on it.

Now I know Perth is somewhat isolated, a long way from Melbourne and full of rabid secessionists....but not quite "International".

we usually do our own thing
i think the supporters group is nearer town at a pub

so we'd rather hang out at home and watch on the big screen
stuff driving to town and then having to pay for grog over the bar and then having to decide who is driving home

From the outside;

Western Saints seem to be a very organized and well run group that enjoy each others company to watch saints games. They also turn any/all saints games in Perth into a real event. I'm not sure but I think they are our largest Interstate supporter group too !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

It seems like I am the only one from Singapore. ):

I've been looking for Saints fans in Singapore, but it seems like there's none. So what I do every week is to watch the games alone at home, which is pretty sad.

Western Saints do a fantastic job. I'm not sure whether or not we are the biggest support group...but we certainly try and make a lot of noise...which is important at Subi where 95% of the supporters are shouting for the Eagles or Dockers. Left many a game without any voice left.

I can probably source that matrix - but was more interested in what supporters expect of a supporter group?
or do they seek out one in their area

such as these found on Facebook

St Kilda FC Townsville Supporter's Club

Brisbane Saints

I'll say it's sad. Roo Bar behind Muddys near Subway. Craig may be a filth supporter but has a slingbox for all the FOXTEL and on Saints game day you'll usually find a couple of Sainters, Introduce yourself to Craig ,, he usually doesnt bite

I pretty much do my own thing. Although I was really excited to discover late last year some AFL posts at an oval not far from some relatives live. I almost cried...lol.

I might try and hook up with an AFL club supporters group here for a game or two.

I really enjoy meeting up with other supporters and watching the game makes it a social experience not just on TV. Have made some nice friends that way too.

I got all excited hoping there were more Saints in Vietnam (heading there in March) and Singapore (August) but to no avail will have to try and source the games somewhere I hope

You won't find much footy on telly here in March. Australia Network channel common ,, if you go tp Saigon look for a bar called Blue Gecko on Ly tu Trong.

Just got back from Saigon, went to Blue Gecko to try & watch the cricket but it wasn't open that early.

Ended up at Bernies.

I am the head, and sole member, of the Saints supporters group in Tiruvannamalai, India.

Although many of the locals claim to be saints.
