Re: 139 YEARS OLD TODAY
and 46 years ago we won a premiership. wow, what an intense 139 years it has been! who knows what the next 139 will bring us, just maybe, possibly another? or are we pushing our luck.
"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

Perhaps there was too much partying at a few stages of its history? Hence only one really big party.desertsaint wrote:139 years old and only one party?

Re: 139 YEARS OLD TODAY
Luckily, I was there. I can remember as a 14 year old going to a party in Duke Street, East St Kilda on the great night, having attended the match. I was disappointed that some ladies, who had threatened to dance nude after a premiership, didn't. But I was also struck by the number of older people who said that," they could now die happy. " Alas, many of them did in the next few years, including my father and my uncle. Little did I know that 46 years later, we would still be waiting for the second that had taken 69 years for the first. Hopefully, we have less than 23 years to wait. On last night's performance, it might be a tight timeline.desertsaint wrote:139 years old and only one party?
