Is the Foe list destroying Saintsational?

Its a crock iMO and should be got rid of.

By blocking people, it inhibits debate, which is what any forum stands for.

Just because some posters go Sooky la la over another poster, doesn't mean they should have the ability to block everything they write.

People need to grow up and just ignore things they don't like.

It's all a laugh. Part of the fun is stirring the pot at times, whilst at other times we are all a bit more level headed.

We are humans not robots, we change our style to fit the mood.

Blocking a person is black and white and means you miss everything - which includes a lot of good.

Mods - can we look at getting rid of the Foe list? Is it an option???

I think it's better to be blocked by people who believe you're an 'enemy' because the debate loses focus anyway, and ends up on a personal level....

no ,i don't think so and i certainly would not support it being discontinued......i currently have three posters on my list....these three have done nothing but stalk and abuse me for years ...afaic they do nothing to enhance my enjoyment of this site and i don't intend to read anything any of these dropkicks post again....am i the poorer for this ?....no....is the forum better for not having to read threads constantly ruined because of these guys attacking me with offensive comments ??....you bet your flowering arse it is.........never again mate...never again...

...i am not a sook...just not prepared to add any further angst to a site that i once loved.....

...whilst none of the three could ever have an affect on me personally, that kind of abuse over a period of time can and has had serious consequences....

This list is perfect. Lets us weed out the trolls and those who just post rubbish, people who just make childish comments about other posters.
A "foe" could post something relevant; this would be evident by the response immediately below theirs.
That would pique our interest, and then we can unblock that post to have a squiz.

Well, I don't know what the reason for it is, but this forum has become rather dull lately IMO. Perhaps it is just an inevitable consequence of our team not going so well and having pretty uninspiring prospects for the next few years.

Now there actually are some reasonable footy threads around.

Got to be honest and say that I am also going over to the bigfooty AFL forum more than I ever used to for some genuine footy debate too... our decline actually makes it MORE interesting to think about how we will rebuild IMO

I think it is a fantastic addition to the forum. Eliminating the thousands of spam posts from
a couple of idiots who only try to stir others up improves this forum greatly.

there are a number of posters who quote the entire contents of a previous post, which we can all read anyway, so why repeat it...
This takes up at least a page and a half.
You know who I mean.
Then we get to their absolutely brilliant reply. one or two lines.
e.g. "at least I go to the games, you watch it on TV"
OMG it was worth the wait.
I add them to my foes list to make the forum easier to read.

Don't think the Foe/Ignore list is destroying SS. I don't use the Ignore function, but I have a few posters on my own form of Ignore - Never open threads they start - and rarely, if ever read their posts.

For various reasons, mainly the bullies, abusive ones and bandwidth wasters - saves time as well.
