based on his role, I'd say that Ledger will get the nod (even if just for a half)

However depending on other changes, maybe newnes in with grammy playing further up the ground

nah, no inner sanctum knowledge. but you acknowledge that he was playing down back "where he normally is" - so he's obviously got a role in defence. farren ray has rarely ever lined up in defence so doesn't that suggest that he wouldn't easily fill that role?
I do and your right Grams our best defender.

Brisbane on a dewy damp evening

Don't be surprised to see

In: Polo

experienced hard player

Brisbane midfield is going ok, and a cuple of them need shutting down

Happy to experiment but this is not the game, we need these 4 points

Not expecting that, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen but we tried playing experienced harder players against Adelaide and North Melbourne, yet reverted back to a bit of youth vs Essendon and look what happened.

Steven's replacement should be one of Ross, Ledger or Curren if they go like for like. If they throw someone like Schneider into the midfield, then bring in Markworth, Cripps or Milera.

Fisher is fine and as for Milney lets wait till 2014 to see how we go with out him , 5 goals last week not enough for you!!!

Jack for Jack in a midfield role...

Steven for Newnes... Give him a run on the ball, I like his decision making and neat usage...

Would like to see SW to give Ledger or Ross a chance, onballer for an onballer.

You'd reckon it would be a "like-for-like" swap. I like what I've seen of Newnes so far, though.

This!!! Newnes looks like a born midfielder and will certainly play there in the next year or two, would love to see him get his chance, he is cool under pressure, good skills and hard as a cars head

Would be happy with any of Ross, Ledger or Markworth. Ray into the middle for a full game and Markworth sub...Although tbh Watters hasn't really messed the youngsters around with the sub. Milera straight in, Saad only had one week as sub, Newnes had 5 full games IIRC?

May well see a youngster get a full game.

I do and your right Grams our best defender.
incidentally, gram's interview today contains this quote:

"I think my role has changed a bit over the last 12 months. I'm a bit more a stay-home defender playing on those small forwards."

not sure if that helps your conception of his place in the team, teffers.

Interesting, you told us he's had "a very specific role last few weeks"

Yet Gram simply says his role has "changed a bit "

Neither matter really in terms of what I (and not just me I might add... the coach has already singled him out for a reason...) consider to be the area where Gram needs to improve - his attack on the ball and man with the ball and in his ability to get across and help a team mate using his body IF he has to. IMO Gram lacks consistency in this area and to be honest , I could care less what role he plays.... These things are unconditional.

Still, if you are prepared to write off inconsistency from Gram cause he has some "new" role so be it.

Maybe the reason Watters changed his role is because he too wasn't happy with Grams output..... there's a thought...
