Not true, didn't he kick like 9 goals for the first 11 rounds, and 51 for the remaining 11 or something like that?

I agree that if he puts together 23 weeks of it next year, sure, will probably get MVP as well.

I love the AA selectors. League's number one contested ball player starts on the outside. Genius!

Yeah I also like their explanation of leaving Pav out - Because the team is picked out of 23 rounds

Yet Buddy makes it in with 16 games?

I don't really understand Hawkins getting FF over Jack Riewoldt

Their stats were pretty similar, marks, goals and disposals, though Jack had twice as many tackles… Surely if they are too close to split, the guys the actually won the goal kicking award should get the guernsey?

The selectors hate small forwards, small defenders, outside players and, prior to tonight, tall defensive stoppers (seriously, 3?). They like big engined in and under ball magnets.

The best outside players get routinely left out so that the selectors can prove how big, tough and awesome they are by selecting inside mids as outside mids and small forwards. It never seems to occur to the selectors that if these players were any good at doing these jobs, they'd actually be doing them. A player that can make an impact from outside the centre square is far more rare than a see-ball, get-ball player.

I'd happily take Lewis Jetta over one of these 25-30 touch clanger-prone grunts. Particularly if I wanted a wingman. At least Rioli gets enough hype that they have to select him.

St Kilda goalsneak Stephen Milne, who won a second consecutive All Australian guernsey, is the oldest in the side at 32 and has played the most games (258).

Also noted that when talking about picking Rioli over Jetta they mentioned Jetta's last month that it was poor. All in all though I agreed with most of the selections and explanations. Expected/hoped Sean and Milne were there, so over the moon with that. The missus asked why isn't Lenny there but honestly I couldn't find a spot for him.

I think Dempster has become one of my favourite players over the past couple of years. I was lucky enough to watch a fair bit of preseason training this year and noone works harder than him.

And to think a few on this forum were actually calling for him to be dropped/retired at the start of the year.

Worse still - Milney makes AA and doesn't get in our top 10 of the B&F :?

Somethings not right. Either our B&F is flawed or the AA selectors have no clue.

As for Lenny - the midfield is the toughest place in the AA team to win a spot. Boyd didn't even make the last 40 and will probably win the doggies B&F
