If Daniher is judged to be a first round pick, and so is Goddard, then it should be up to the bombers to trade to send a first round pick our way. It would be BS if we get shafted with anything less than a first round pick, and BS if the bombers get all these guns for 1 pick.

Ummmm we at this stage will have 2 first round draft picks both before the bombers. They will get Daniher and will have to wait till Round 2 for their first technical pick of the draft!
To be fair though Daniher will be a good player for them.

Thats basing it on his performances in the TAC, he no doubt will be a good player but not straight away me thinks. If the Bombers think that Bj is the only thing lacking from their team I think they are dreaming IMO

I think Munga is confused, the compensation pick is from the AFL, not fron Essendon. The Bombers give up nothing but $s for BJ.

but given radio talk last night suggesting he DOES NOT want to come to the saints - where does that stand....

Then he doesnt come. The player must agree as well as the clubs.
Does he really? Stephen King comes to mind...you can be pretty sure he did not want to leave Geelong, yet he ended up with us.

Just because he doesn't want to come to the Saints, doesn't mean it won't happen. I wonder what his reasons are for not wanting to come. Was that mentioned on the radio?

We have 12, bombers have to use 13 on Daniher yeah?
Unless we get a free agent ourselves we will get pick 13. Bombers will have to use their first pick which is 10? Which for Daniher seems fair. They then wait until nearly pick 30 for their next one.
Your explanation is correct

but re Daniher think they are getting a bargain even using pick 10

if was available to all clubs.................pos pick 1

I agree, posted some time ago BJ is not the type of player they need, they would be better off with Dal, he's more what they need.
But hey, who knows, they might get Moloney as well?

Are we losing Lenny and Danny Markworth?

Why would Roo look the fool, they are obviously great mates regardless of what Brendon decides to do?

Ahhhhh cheers. So the afl slots a pick in the draft for us and shifts every other pick down one, is that it?

Correct. Now the thing that makes compo picks interesting is what is Pearce and Chaplin combined worth in FA terms? One would hope PA pick up a player like Monfries to push their compo pick back to second round or further... I'd hate for a different club to lose multiple free agents and push our compo down the draft!

Im assuming this comment relates to DalSanto?

Others worthy are Stanton and Shane Crawford. Several others wouldnt have been disappointing but most did not cut it at the top level.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Maybe you should have another look. Andrew McKay was pretty good. Rob Murphy has been very solid for a long time. Ash McGrath won a few flags. Hurn, Riewoldt and Ebert would all get games for any club in the comp. Talia just won the Rising Star.

On SEN tonight they mentioned "Pick 13 and a player for Josh Caddy & Hickey"

No word on 'the player' from Saints

Would we do it if it was a Ray / Gram / Jones / Raph / Kosi deal ?

Giving GC all of them may be a bit much. :D

Gram isn't going anywhere - According to him on twitter

Raph and Jones worth very little

I think Kosi would prefer to retire than play for another club

It will be a completely new "made up" pick from the AFL. Has nothing to do with any of the bombers or and other teams picks. The AFL would create a new pick after our first round pick, and and pick after ours would be bumped further down the order.

Bombers finished below us therefore have pick 10

The compensation we get from goddard, just pushes every pick after ours down 1 place
