Geary to Midfield

Post: # 1326320Post Teflon »

Reckon Sainter K is right on this.

He's taken his game up a level and IMO could add both hardness and badly needed dash to the middle and can kick a goal.

Forget Gilbert as a mid. Does that give us room to squeeze in Gwilt on return or even Simpkin? or are we a short defender down? anyway, surely we can find someone to play that small defender role - midfield badly needs a chop out IMO.

Geary is already working through the midfield.

A little, want more....midfield forward.

These kids like Steven, Armo, Jarryn need to rotate through both.

We are too one dimensional.

Gears is wasted in a Baker type role now, let Newnes develop there.

Gears would be good in the centre, and he can kick a goal.
He reminds me of Paul Kelly, and I don't mean the singer.

Quite a flattering comparison for him.

Gee, if he ends up being half as good a servant as Kelly was for Sydney, I'd be happy with those efforts.

I have a lot of faith in young Geary. Could be in line for our next Captain do you think?

He has really stepped up. He has some real pace too.

Agree on the mid/forward call. Got a hard head and wont shirk winning his own ball.

Certainly held his own in that contest didn't he. He's becoming a quality player. Great to see. I had my doubts.

Agree with all the talk about Gears in a mid/fwd role.

Has a cool head/great composure under pressure.

Good pace, that chase on Jetta was quality.

Knows where the goals are and should of had 2 imo.

Captain? Undecided but definite leader.

Who's skills couldn't get better? I can't quote disposal efficiency but is it that poor?

Endurance runner, can go all day week in week out and has some mongrel about him that we need more of.

Yep. Agreed. He's stepped up. How about give dal Santo the loose across halfback role to get some disposal into him?

Agree with most of that.

However under pressure he only uses the ball as well as CJ.

Let's give him a go and see how he goes. He may improve his ball use.

With Wright in the team he has been running through the midfield anyway.

What we really need is an extra couple of Mids that are good ball distributors.
