Clive Waterhouse and Richard Lounder are probably available and they fit your criteria.

Agree we know Stkilda needs midfielders but just remember what Hawks (Pelchen) did when they set their list up

Who did they pick early Roughhead & Franklin of course.

If they could get Patton next 3 picks mids then 2 defenders they are on there way.

Hence McEvoy/Fisher are trade bait still going to be tough year but exciting if that happened.

I would think about it. Could get two top 10 picks for giving up some quality and a very good pick. Would be win win IMO. could we play Spencer as a KPB if we get Boyd?

That trade would never happen thats a massive win for us

They get a super star back they want in Fisher and in Mc Evoy a first round ruckman who is ready to go, both on their wish list and Mc Evoy should be a 10 year ruck. Bruce will walk if they can't organise a trade and really only worth a second rounder at best. They don't need more picks just good ones. They don't need Boyd a forward so would probably prefer a mid anyway so pick one not really much better than 3 anyway. They swap pretty much Mc Evoy and pick 3 for Patton then 9 and Bruce for Fisher. They win on Mac Evoy and 3 for Patton we win on Bruce and 9 for Fisher.

Why, they don't need Boyd, drop two spots and pick 9 for McEvoy and Fisher.
Bruce could easily leave for nothing, that's the game.

Take out pick 9 from the trade and we may have a chance
Makes the transaction more even ?

I doubt GWS would want to trade for a ruckman who struggles to win a hit out, but, you never know, funny things happen in trade week.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

As much as we need midfielders, I would love to get Boyd if possible

Disagree, I think Hickey will be better than Mc Evoy in 2 years. Mc Evoy's lack of physicality at centre bounces and his tap work worries me. You can always get ruckmen, and getting Pick 1 (Boyd) or Paton for McEvoy would be a coup. If we have the opportunity to do the deal and don't, I think that is something we would regret down the track.

Agreed. We need midfielders and lots of them, but Boyd looks like a lock as a 10 year KPP, and if you are lucky you get an opportunity to get your hands on one of them only once a decade.

Clive was not that bad and recruiting has come a long way since then.
