Caro's back, day 3 ... the chill is thawing
Happily, a more positive spin, now with quotes from the Pres post board meeting about the VFL team, Moorabbin, new CEO etc ...

Is it just me or are there others that are a little bored with some of the old media personalities and thier incredibly predictable style?
Is it about time some media companies accept thier premiership window is fast closing and immediately commence a full list rebuild.

So far Summers has talked a good talk but the proof will be in the pudding; Westaway sounded promising when he first took the reigns with talks of strengthening sponsorship etc etc.
Interestingly, the club released a vision statement during last year. So I'm not sure how excited I can get about this new one, it will come down to execution.

This part is contradoctiry to the scuttlebutt the other day too:
"It is understood the sub-committee overseeing the search for a new club boss has already entertained the prospect of approaching West Coast boss Trevor Nisbett."

Although there is some inclusion of direct quotes from what appears to be statements made by Summers, there is still the usual attempts by Wilson to generate oblique thought patterns that suit hers and/or the Fairfax agenda.Johnny Member wrote:That was really just a report.stinger wrote:there is nothing in that article that hasn't already been reported elsewhere......hack scum journo is caro....

What will News Ltd run with tomorrow...can anyone guess the headline. One of Wilson's focuses seems to be the Moorabbin issue, I wonder if the HS can turn that into a headline?

Re: Caro's back, day 3 ... the chill is thawing
I'm sorry Jigster, Wilson's article today is as part of a really bad triage she created this week...
For example if you study the 3 articles Wilson wrote about the Saints on 3 consecutive days this week, in each article she made a claim regarding the search for a new CEO. Below are the claims from each day that I copied verbatim from her articles. Do the claims appear to have inconsistencies with one another? You be the judge.
Wednesday 16th Oct
Eagles boss Trevor Nisbett has been ambitiously targeted by the board to replace departing CEO Michael Nettlefold.
Thursday 17th Oct
Now the Saints have targeted a top-level CEO and will next week outline their vision for the future while searching for that new boss along with a new co-major sponsor for the club.
Friday 18th Oct
It is understood the sub-committee overseeing the search for a new club boss has already entertained the prospect of approaching West Coast boss Trevor Nisbett.
Then Wilson tries to stir the pot further by pitting Seaford against Moorabbin and quoting the "club" as though it is an official spokesperson or should it be "spokesclub. Wilson also tries to draw a misleading line between the fact that Terry Dillon is charged with setting up the VFL side at Moorabbin and the fading resentment held by some over the move to Seaford. You be the judge.
Thursday 17th Oct
Further underlining the communication issue is the fact that Terry Dillon's commercial team is planning a wholesale migration back to Moorabbin.
The club says there is no point trekking out to Seaford if it's unnecessary, but it again highlights the folly of that relocation, which still irks the players and the entire football department.
Friday 18th Oct
While the statement falls short of signalling a wholesale move back to the club's old home, Moorabbin remains a key platform of St Kilda's plans.

Re: Caro's back, day 3 ... the chill is thawing
Eagles boss Trevor Nisbett has been 'ambitiously' targeted by the board to replace departing CEO Michael Nettlefold.
The other morning one of KB's older buddies couldn't help himself putting the boots into us when he expressed his outrage that St.Kilda had the nerve to even try for this nesbitt guy. 'Why would he want to go to a place like St.Kilda which is operating like a rabble.
What a jerk!
I thought maybe we wont get him or he wont relocate from WA but glad to see the club is making positive and proactive moves at bettering itself.
Is it simply the lack of afl being played now that ignites the spleen of a particular element of melbourne sports journalist??

Well done Cairnsman on exposing the gossipmongers and charlatans...
First they denigrate the club and speculate and paint a picture of disarray and then they suck up to us so as not to be left out of the loop

Re: Caro's back, day 3 ... the chill is thawing
It's more than likely that Nisbett didn't even come close to being approached by anyone form the club or even field a phone call regarding his availability. Based on the Caro articles it would appear the one she filed today is somewhat of a retraction because she claims the club only entertained the prospect which is a far cry from making him an ambitious target.Megamaguire wrote:Eagles boss Trevor Nisbett has been 'ambitiously' targeted by the board to replace departing CEO Michael Nettlefold.

Is Caro judged on whether her articles are fair and accurate
Or whether she writes what we want to hear?!
