Saints to swap pick 21 with pick 18 from Hawks

Post: # 1402081Post mohannair »

As a part of Ben & Savage deal Saints will swap their 21 pick with Hawks pick 18 (buddy compensation) & Saints also to give their late 3rd round pick back to Hawks.

Is that confirmed? Or more confusion (wishful thinking) in the aftermath of the McEvoy trade? Great if true! Could open the door for 4 trades in Top 20.

How do people think this will impact on the Bruce or Delaney trades?

I understand GWS was more than #21 for Bruce. Given Saints will trade this for #18 and keep #18 what will need to be given for Bruce? Just Fisher? This really is intriguing!

With Delaney, will he walk to Saints through PSD or will Melbourne swoop? More intrigue!

GWS want pick 21 nothing else, saints say too much for an un proven fringe player.

Hawks gave 21 and something in the 40s for Brian Lake a Bulldogs superstar. Saints want a direct swap with Fisher is what i have heard and GWS have said Fisher plus something else as Fisher is already in his 30s. I think if we did some kind of up grade on one of their later picks it might get the job done.

No, including this is the 3 Top 20. Ammet knew yesterday abt this arrangement hence he said that we will have 3 top 20 picks.

Maybe a 2 for 1.

One of Gwilt or Ray… who are surplus at this stage.

I dont think either player is good enough to be wanted by other clubs.

So does this mean we have traded McEvoy, pick 21 & our third round pick for Savage & Picks 17 & 18?

Sounds like we traded mcevoy + 23 + 60 for savage + 18 + 19

So as it stands we have 3 18 19 37 78 in draft

78 will be used on Curren

I wonder what band Sylvia will get 3?

That would come before the 21 we gave to Hawthorn... Which means we've jumped one more spot.

Nothing confirmed, just speculation. One Hawks supporter mentioned this would only happen if hawks got 2 compo picks (instead of one). Since the AFL only gave them one pick, looks like no deal at this stage and we only have 2 picks inside top 20.

Id have thought we would send 77 to North for Delaney. I know they want a 3rd rounder but seriously? After we gave them Dal on a silver platter they really should repay the favor.

Longer for 25 seems like a fair deal.

I guess GWS want 18 or 19 for Bruce which is way overs. Should wrap him up for 41

Well that isnt right by the supporter because the hawks knew that could only get one pick.
