If we miss Bruce, I will be pretty disappointed. Prefer him over Longer.
A 10 year 197 cm chb not growing on trees. Certainly none in this draft.

Happy to trade fish or give 25 for him.

Longer would be a bonus in Psd.

His original "Home" town is Berri in S.A. He only spent his draft year in Adelaide. He prefers Melbourne. His girlfriend is a VIC girl also. So I can tell you that you can rule out the Go Home factor.

Also in this draft the difference from pick 14 to pick 19, talent wise is going to be a very similar player.

nice work mate
thank christ
really want to keep this lad
was a bit home stick to start with i heard
but its good to see he has settled in well
still reckon he has gun potential this bloke
so...f*** off Port, you aint getting him
I definitely read an article about a week ago which was an interview with the Port recruiting guy. He was quoted as saying they asked about Rhys before the McEvoy trade and were told NO. Hour then said when McEvoy left they thought maybe they would ask again, but the Saints still said NO. I will try find a link. Was an SA paper website I think....
SEN had a Port guy on saying they never asked and it was after Michelangelo Rucci wrote an article saying that the Saints blocked the trade.

I'd happily do the following...

Fisher & 25 to GWS for Bruce & 21.

On trade 21 & 41 to Lions for Longer.

I don't understand our insistence on keeping Chips. He is a great player but so was Dal, he plays a position where we have multiple options and will be long retired when we are next challenging.

Otherwise walk Bruce to the PSD on a huge contract and give 25 & 41 to Lions for Longer. Get it done saints... I'd still be wrapt with a pick 19 & 25 and Steak knives for Longer and 14, actually, I've got it....

Pick 19, 25 & 41 to Port for pick 14 and Longer. Bruce PSD, go to National draft with 3, 14 & 18. Make it happy Pelch!

Don't think it's a question of us insisting on keeping him. More that no-one else wants to take him. After GWS picked up Shaw, they didn't need Chips any longer and no-one else is interested.

Agree. I think Bruce is more important than Longer.

Get Bruce. Then worry about Longer.

If we could grab Longer in the PSD then s*** yes.

Does anyone know any details about the 3 way trade we may be involved in ?
Just heard about it on SEN news break.

... Port, Bris and either GC or us

We are not needed in that 3 way trade.

I'd say another case of SEN putting 2 & 2 together and coming up with 28.

It is from Rucci again though. The Port guy on SEN (it may have been Rhode) said they hadn't categorically and laughed it off. Said it was journos putting 2 and 2 together because he is from SA. It sounded more legit than Rucci who is a notorious clown that doesn't have any ability to stop himself from being a fan first and a journalist second. He is a shock jock type reporter in SA that stirs up the crows fans.

well when the 6-12 bombers get infraction notices, they will at least have 3 players who can play for them next year including goddard.

Probably more of an issue that Chips doesn't want to go... He'd be gone IMO otherwise.

Shaw now a Giant. Hopefully the focus for GWS is shifted to the Bruce deal

Yes, GWS now know what picks they have...or may want.

Also they will be more clear on him they want to make a last grab for Fisher.

Oddly the Pies have paid them some cash for Shaw (ie agreed to pay part of his salary to effect the straight swap). Hope that doesn't factor into anything here.

Gubby Allan just suggesting that Bruce is a required player at GWS and there is an offer on the table. They want him to stay. Must say he didn't sound too convincing.

That offer has been on the table for a while though.

Josh Hunt to join GWS.

So that will be a sign that the Fisher deal is definitely dead.

They will not want more than 2 oldies down back.

Could we do 3 way with Sydney teams. Pick 41 to swans gws get Lamb, we get Bruce? Better for Sydney to get 41 then 48. Or they could have both picks.

Man I'm peaking out, hoping to get Bruce deal done.

I don't believe there is a Bruce deal, i think it sank the moment they went after Longer

Ask Pelchen, he is running the show, especially now that he has re-holstered his dummy, and that's only if you believe Caro...

Surely we need to get Bruce.... I'd be shocked if we didn't.
Bruce just simply has to stay firm and not accept GWS offer and state I'm going to St.Kilda or the draft.
