New coach: Official SS discussion thread
Still reeling in shock, but we may as well get to talking about the inevitable.
Jon Ralph tweeted that Choco Williams at $1.1m is the front runner. Rob Harvey the long shot.

Re: New coach: Official SS discussion thread
I don't see how choco would help at all. If the root of the problem was that Scotty Watters didn't like the head of football having more power than him I can't believe Choco is going to like it. Watters was a novice coach who hadn't experienced the head honcho thing at AFL level, Mark Williams is going to be coming at it with experience.

Choco hated that Sheedy held onto the power at GWS.
However, Pelchen was at Port between 1996 and 2004, so he's worked with Williams before.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

The way I see it, and the way I generally understand human relationships to function, is that if two people genuinely respect each other and work well together, there won't be any issues of who is superior to who.evertonfc wrote:Choco hated that Sheedy held onto the power at GWS.

I don't know anything about the relationship between Pelchen and Williams, but if they have that sort of respect (and I would imagine that if Williams was hired it would be because of Pelchen's strong recommendation) it can be an effective team.

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. As long as it's someone better, like Choco. Good man and family, very good coach.
