Just park in the street. It's usually free. Or have they put signs up now?
The Seaford Bowling Club was charging $4 for the use of their car park. Smart move.

Was happy to pay $4

Spencer & Webster joined the huddle even though they didn't play, are they far away?

Jolly spent a lot of time with Hickey at the end of the first, maybe just me, but think Longer got his hands on it more and lept very high?

Armo, Steven, Geary, Jones and even Fish in ripping nick.

Wright had jelly legs, had the stuffings knocked out of him early.

Billings huffing and puffing up the boundary, probably wondering what he got himself into :)

Joey vocal, Maister almost marks, Savage impressive looks at home, Robbo still reading the play well. Nice to have some size in Bruce & Delaney.

Hot, had a stool for my son as there is honestly no provisions for kids to watch, I tip my hat to the old chooks braving the heat. Something feels weird about them having to byo chairs, I wish we were better with stuff like that.

I'd love a job there just for the little details, the small things that make a big difference.

Surprised the BBQ was going, thought it was a fire ban.

Rusty but good intent was my feel.

I arrived early to avoid the $4 Parking Fee. Early entertainment was provided by the (alleged) driver of the Merchandise Truck. He only hit 2 of the wooden bolards as he tried to reverse into place.

I noticed that there was a "Corporate Area" around towards the coaches box (truck)

1st Q Notes; Armo, Joey, Jack, Dempster, Chips, Roberton, CJ & Newnes dominated. Billings classy. Maister killing Bruce. Delaney looks to be well ahead of Bruce at this stage. Stanley very aggressive. Hickey & Longer pretty even in the ruck

2nd Q Notes; Lots of players swapped teams at Q time. Couldn't keep up. Stanley played in the Ruck v Hickey. Pretty Even. Eli Templeton gave fantastic 2nd, 3rd & 4th efforts that resulted in a goal. Dempster, Roberton, Delaney, Fisher & Saunders went really well and look to be ready for Rd 1. Jack, Joey & Armo getting plenty of the ball. Billy Longer got crunched not far from us but got up limping. Played the game out with a bit of a corked thigh. Daniel Markworth took a hanger in front of the coaches.

3rd Q Notes; Getting hotter, getting scrappier. Lots of ball ups. Hickey kicked 3 goals in a row, mainly as a crumbing forward. Jack x 2 (Steven & Newnes) very good. Josh Saunders showing how tough he is. I took a bit of notice of Seb Ross. He gets the ball quite a bit, uses it well be he seems to be the type of player you don't notice. Weather getting hotter. Report going south

4th Q Notes; CJ, Jack x 2 and Joey doing as they please. My big call right here & right now. Eli will be a cult hero

I estimate that there were about 800 people there, many of whom stayed for the group photo out on the ground

We bailed just before the end of the game as I had to get one of the kids to a birthday party and wanted to avoid the crush in a back suburban street. looked to me well more than 800 people there. Don't know how many we had there last year but this year was a lot more IMO.

Templeton's intensity impressed me. Thought Stanley looked to be moving well and with much more intent to be in the right places. Longer is going to be good. Savage will be a handy type and good to see some height in the backline. Jack Newnes is in for a big year. Sippa looks a hell of a lot fitter as well.

FWIW here's how I saw it

Maister was a positive, marked well and kicked straight. Drifted into defence for a good grab
Billings is quality+. Seeing him for the first time would liken him to Nathan Brown (WB-Rich)
Acres did some good things
Longer had a thigh injury and was running poorly
Hickey kicked a couple and I believe will hold Longer at bay. Not based on Longer being restricted but because I rate Hickey
Saunders was full speed ahead
Bruce took a good grab then butchered the ball and Maister had his measure.
Savage was impressive and kicked a goal from about 50? (was on the other side) and as stated by someone else hits the target very well
Dunstan I didnt notice do much and as previously documented is a unit Marksworth didnt do much but had a very impressive clean passage right in front of me which with Savages goal were my highlights
Eli was good in the last when on the side with the better players. He stripped the ball off Steven (in the third?) when he had no right to which impressed me
Armitage is peaking and played well for four quarters
Steven will be a gun again
Least impressed with Siposs
Wasn't overly impressed with what I saw but in hot conditions and this early on didn't expect much either.
Schnieder, Roo, Lenny, Webster, Gwilt, White and obviously Gilbert didn't play proably a few others to

Did White do a Hammy playing or did he not play because of a twinge??

Thought Armitage was clearly the most impressive of pretty lack lustre display. (Accept it was hot )

Savage's skills clearly showed where the Hawks standards are compared to Saints
Did not think Billings would play early games in season he might .........very impressive.
Finally Fisher looks back to old self 2009 - 2010

My first trip to Seaford.

Have to say the facilities looked quite good for a training ground.
Not very spectator friendly though.
Especially in the heat.

The boys put on a good show in the heat.
Hickey was impressive and he must have high self belief given his stupid haircut!
Beau Wilkes-Maister-Peacock-Sangster-Renouf presented well and took some rippers.
Liked the look of Savage - looks like a starter for round 1.

Didn't realise they were doing a group photo thing so I left half way through the last quarter as the heat was starting to get to me and the beach was beckoning.

Shadowed his opponent, whoever he got each quarter....still has a height disadvantage, but hoping he has the 'mongrel' to compensate for that

Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated up here!

I have to say the oval looks huge! Is it just the camera angle or is it a big ground?
