That bloke's 'worth' over $700 mil. Hey, he could throw a $100 mil our way to re-build Moorabbin or the Junction, and not even notice it. And in return I'd be happy to name one of the new toilet blocks in his honour.

(And Ahmed would be back on our list for this season too...)

I think it's pretty clear that the Club (and probably the AFL too) is aiming for someone from within the industry, who has had previous experience in the CEO role or thereabouts - hence the rumours of Nisbett, Swann, AA, Robson etc.

Didn't Finey/Jaxons put a few noses out of joint at the club, maybe someone is in the gun sight.

I am still wondering about Andrew Plympton. A Saints man, high profile businessman in several fields, as head of Yachting Australia has set up a financial model that many National sporting organisations in Aust want to get their hands on (eg yachting success at the last Olympics), and has now vacated the Yachting Aust CEO position. He also has some knowledge of how the AFL works. I am not into Yachting (no money) but a friend who is says he has been fantastic for the sport.

The other one I am still wondering about is this guy Robson. Fell on his sword at E'don for obviously something he felt he should have known about but didn't and acknowledged it with his resignation. Previously worked at H'thorn. The interesting thing about his time at H'thorn is that they didn't say he was no good and in fact they acknowledged he was a top liner and had recommended to E'don that they have a good look at him for their CEO's job. The problem he had at H'thorn is that he couldn't get on with Jeff Kennett and I have heard Kennett acknowledge this on radio. Ticks a lot of boxes though. Another poster suggested that he now works for one of the A League sides and perhaps they are waiting for the season to finish.

Apparently his work at Yachting Aust is regarded as something pretty special. In paticular the financial model he has set up for YA I have read about in the press and heard about it on the radio from representatives of a couple of National sporting organisations. These representatives were hopeful they could adapt the model to their particular sports because the model is a real winner for YA. This sort of business ability coupled with his background at the Saints/AFL is why I put his name up there although I don't know how old he is.

Have a geek on google. He's on the board of several companies, has a bit to do with the AOC as well. Would be a brilliant appointment but doubt it would happen.

Surprised to read some people actually excited about Anderscum.
Have people forgotten so quickly what a tool this bloke was?

Policy on the run.
Post it notes.
Reversing the result of a properly concluded match.
Unaccountable MRP.
Inconsistent fines.
Salary cap debacles - some investigated others not.
Tanking - some investigated others not

SAY NO TO ANDERSCUM

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

I do not know who it will be but have been told reasons why some have not got the job.
Both Robson and AA have been vetoed by the afl.
Gary March apparantly approached us for the job. (If anyone can confirm this that is more in the know)

You are kidding right? Nobody (well almost nobody) other than a govt department or a not for profit actually advertises for a CEO position. Sure fire way to get every nut bag in the country applying.

The board will have a list of targets - maybe put together by themselves or maybe with the help of a search firm - as will the AFL.

You're on the right track but we can't wait that long. Let's get Mick Gatto. I reckon he could improve our stadium deal pretty quickly.

Would take about ten minutes to sort out a Short list.
So far all we have heard are names of blokes who have worked at other clubs - no matter how s***.
Idiots like 'swanny' 'robbo' etc etc . Just the usual boys club.
We have also been looking for over 6 months. So I'd suggest you are kidding if you think we are handling this with the precision you are suggesting .

I reckon mokes might be a good get . How long is he in for ?

Think about it -
stakeholder mgt - tick.
Financial nous - tick
Logistics - tick
Getting supplements through customs - tick

Micky G would get us a better stadium deal and then renovate Moorabin quick smart and cheap !
I'm pretty sure no Councillor would stand over us over pokies either .

Gatto and Mokbel - the dream team.

Correct Fingers. I reckon every single CEO is targetted. You would never advertise in the AFR. What a waste of money and time.

We don't even have a careers section on the Saints website.

That's so embarrassing in this day and age.

hahaha - like you would know.
Coming from a guy who also thinks weights are a waste of time. I hope you have called Jeremy Cameron, Taylor Walker, Nick Riewoldt, Cameron Cloke, Kurt Tippett etc etc etc and told them to stop wasting their time in the gym. Pretty much every large company put job ads in the AFR on a Friday.

But hey the club do everything right apparently so what would I know. I mean Michael Nettlefold was a bright bloke and commercial genius

Yes we all know print media is in decline - but it is hardly a big deal. So you get some 'corporate headhunters' to contact Greg Swann or scan linkedin?
What a pile of crap.

Don't try and make it is sophisticated cos its not.
