Welcome.scallopsroe wrote:I have also been an avid reader of this forum for many years and this is my first post. I am a long time Saints member and supporter and while my opinions may differ from some on this forum, we as passionate Saints supporters sometimes need to vent our frustrations in a public forum such as this. Comment on the current St Kilda side and its performances need to be judged from the wonderful period of success we have seen from 2004 to 2011. Never before has this underachieving club experienced consistent seasons where wins were a given and beatings were rare.
Unfortunately when you combine declining membership, poor recruiting and indifferent management these areas of neglect will bite you on bum quickly. This happens at any club level, AFL and local footy. This is what we are now experiencing and it's not pleasant.
Hopefully with better recruiting and a more active management and with supporters committing to the cause, we will see the Saints again challenge for the top.
Monday night showed that of our ten experienced players in that side only three of them could hold their heads up, Roo, Schneider and Lenny. This is puts alot of pressure on the young recruits and the poor results are there for all to see. There's pain ahead but at least the club is planning to address our list deficiencies. We all need to support and get behind the team and the club during this phase of development.
thats the thing about rules ... they suck.Cairnsman wrote:Sainter K one of the better ways for a thread like this to work is to make it a condition of registration for new members to go to a sticky thread specifically for new members to introduce themselves.

its a interesting idea ... but any sort of 'condition of registration' sets up the
repressed rebel to achieve things individually / naturally like
take for example these two 'new member' threads
... that have evolved naturally
... K's thread gets kudos for setting the tone
... the other has goats.
a life lived is choice not a directive.
we're already copp'n the fat end of the wedge
surely we shouldn't be encouraging it.
