Wow, no matches on free-to-air TV. Was this also the case last year?

We get to see -
- new players running out for the first time.
- players tested in new positions.
- new match strategies given a run.
They'll all be live streaming on the App doo-dad.
But I'll be waiting 24 hours or so, when they become available on video replay
from the AFL site.
Are you sure about that? If the Brisbane game being played in somebody's back yard is not being telecast on Foxtel, I doubt it will be on the live app.

No, they're both run by muppets. Televised AFL has become a joke. I probably wouldn't follow the game if the only way to watch it was on television. Definitely not worth paying for it. So free-to-air gets the nod.

And when was AFL televised better. Back in the 80's when no games were live or now when every single game can be watched live for as little as $2 a day. How would you go about televising it?

All games will be streaming on the AFL LIve App, which means they'll turn up on replay.

I don't think there is any streaming

I was watching the Leyland Brother Austrlaian Story piece tonight.

Maybe Mal could take up filming unloved nab cup games.

All this whinging and moaning about a practice game against Brisbane.

Are people serious?
People are spending hours over the off season on a footy forum. Why are you surprised that they actually want to watch their team play?

The Brisbane game is an officially sanctioned NAB challenge game and not a run of the mill practice match (even though we all know it really is a praccy match). Surely if its a NAB challenge game as per the fixture then Foxtel should be showing it.

If Foxtel are only going to show two matches from every club and that is all the NAB challenge have allotted (2 games) then fair enough but not when 3 games have been included for every club.

Having touted the AFL App, I must add a caveat that I had a bad experience with it last year.
It failed to function fully on my Sony Xperia phone through home Wi-Fi, I think because I was
on an old version of Android (2.2).

so
if they can stream every match there must be at least one camera at each ground
so show the friggin matches

i was under the impression that the lions and drug cheats games were not being shown
http://www.afl.com.au/fixture/nab-challenge
but looking at that its just the lions game not shown
i couldve sworn that the essendon one had no foxtel beside it two weeks ago

oh well
one nab practice game missed aint gonna hurt in the long run

Do you really think Foxtel would show a game with one or even 2 camera's. How much crap would they cop for that. Certainly a lot more than not showing it. I know people struggle to remember but the same thing happened last year. When grounds are played at remote locations there is always a chance they wont show it. It surely isn't going to hurt to miss one game. The way we will probably go this year people will be wishing more games weren't shown.

Last year the Port game was not televised. It was broadcast on 5AA with all the even handedness you would expect. A replay with one camera and no commentary popped up on the website 5 days later.

http://www.saints.com.au/video/2014-03- ... -v-port-q1
http://www.saints.com.au/video/2014-03- ... -v-port-q2
http://www.saints.com.au/video/2014-03- ... -v-port-q3
http://www.saints.com.au/video/2014-03- ... -v-port-q4

I don't expect anything better for the Brisbane game.

Foxtel are not televising it and I can't imagine the AFL bending over backwards to try to get it on for the few freaks (me included) who would watch it.

Saints website saying free entry to members, but recommending upgrading to a ticket to guarantee access.

I've never been inside the ground, but it must only hold limited numbers if they're concerned about it being a sellout.

You are such a horrendous bloke.
You obsess over winning points and being 'right' and mouthing off big time about it. But when you are WRONG which let me say happens from time to time (probably 30% overall) you are silent like a little mouse.
