I would rather fiery say what he said than sanyta saying I agree when someone is having a go at me. Now that is clear baiting and you know how I know that. Because that's how I feel not how a mod feels

Plugs, I agree what Fireman said was at the soft end of the scale and in perhaps another time it would just pass without any attention. He's also noted that he was trying to help. I also understand you weren't worried about it. If it was just a discussion between the two of you then no problem. But posting in a public forum that someone is the biggest problem on the site is just an invitation for someone else to weigh in on that topic. And that's how the personal stuff kicks off. And then around and around it goes.
And.......we've had plenty of forum space devoted to "who's the biggest problem on the site". Do we need any more? All threads like do is provide manure for abuse, bickering and flaming.
Firey, if you were posting in jest or even with good intent and the mods have misunderstood, then apologies. We stuff up sometimes. But we are making a concerted effort to knock out the bickering and baiting and that's why a warning was given.

Simon starts a thread reminding members of the forum rules.
It, of course, gets jacked and it decends into what needs to change on the format, posting you-tube, no like button, and Fireman and RP66 taking it in a completely different direction.
I understand when Simon says this site does not want to compete wit BF. Fair enough, for a start the moderation here is by only two people so resources is an issue.
It is a different dynamic, but personally here seems more tabloid to BF's broadsheet. The football discussion is much more respectful and in depth at bigfooty.
Its a personal preference on where you want to post and it is only opinion which is better.
However everyone, instead of attacking the mods, let them do their jobs.
And Dave McNamara, it is not important for you to know why the nic joffaboy does not appear here anymore, just that the mods have accepted my reasons that Bunk_Moreland is what I wish to be known as.
One prominent member refuses to use my new nic, and every time he does I will report him, even until he is banned.
His choice and he controls the issue on whether he is banned or not. Use the other nic, bait, or insult me in any way, and you will be reported.
The only way to make this forum more friendly and respectful is to adhere to the rule and report any poster how isn't.

I've never had a warning, never had to change my anonymous name, and have just had to wade through through years and years of you, plugger and mart etc.
The threads 'decends' into discussion of the site when it could obviously be better used by a grown man settling anonymous internet scores with strangers.

Hi B_M, I didn't actually ask why the change of nic(s), coz like 99% of people here I know the answer already. I asked for the return of those nics.

I not overly fussed on upgrading… but things I do like on BF include:
• alerts
• a little icon in the thread lists to let you know which threads you've posted in, in the past
• likes (mainly as a way of supporting a good post, as opposed to having to post to write "like" or "good post")
• multiple quotes
• embedding tweets/instagram
• embedding video - I really can't see any difference in risk to posting photos if you are worried about porn Simon? Surely the exact same rules apply… breaking them using a photo or video would be exactly the same.
Pretty sure we could archive and move everything from here if we migrated to a newer platform?
It will be harder to attract younger saints fans here if the world has moved on from basic text chat… younger people will definitely gravitate towards a more content-rich platform.
I like the crusty dudes on here, but I think you need to keep attracting new posters to survive.
I understand our site is rather antiquated and may not be capable of much of what is requested - but we should do as much as we can with it. As dragit said - youngsters are used to bells and whistles and won't be attracted purely by the quality of discourse on this site...or alternatively - we need other attractions other than the self serving dribble found permeating across all threads.
