He came into work the other day as he was doing the media rounds.

Seems really relaxed about the whole thing. Gave off a very "at ease" vibe.
He's old in footy terms but he said he doesn't feel old yet.

Hopefully he can get through the year without any major injury so we can all have the pleasure of watching him go round again.

think I prefer the one to the Saints song

more articles
For now, the honour of joining Barry Breen, Nathan Burke, Stewart Loewe and Robert Harvey as 300-game Saints is exciting enough. Riewoldt remembers being "devastated" to miss, because of injury, the time when Burke and Loewe shared the milestone in his first season, and being "insanely jealous" of fellow newbie Justin Koschitzke running out with them.
He loved the little gold 300 on their jumpers, and will have lasting recognition of his own on Saturday night, including "Rooey 300" caps for fans to doff in salutation. A video of Saints luminaries, former teammates, captains, Ross Lyon in his Fremantle office and other footy folk was aired on the scoreboard on Wednesday, setting a moving scene.
For years, Riewoldt has been an avid reader of the classics, but admitted medical grant applications and minutes from board meetings have consumed him of late. He read James Spot's First Easter the other day, and has Cath riding him to get back to big books. "Reading and yoga are the best medicines for him."
A full house sharing Maddie's Vision on Saturday night would be a rich tonic, too.

Say what you will about Robbo, but good on him for organising Roo to sign the hats and auctioning them off. Some bloke coughed up $10k for Maddies Vision which a great result.

The chat with Roo on 360 tonight was great.

The 360 interview was very good. Even Robbo managed to sound coherent (although he was practically sitting on top of Roo, which was frankly weird).

Just enormously proud of what he has achieved.

holy crap that hats off video pulled on the heart strings, was thinking it was cheesy for the 1st 15 seconds then there was his Family, current and former teammates and coaches, other members of the football community. St Kilda will certainly feel different when he is gone.

Cath was on radio this morning

and Nick's take on 300
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-02/t ... ney-to-300
THE MENTAL BATTLE

Riewoldt: "I have self-doubts every game. I'll think, 'What if I don't touch it today?' It's not rational, but it clicks me into gear. I bring it back to, 'What makes me a good player? Well, it might take me a half, but I'll work my opponent over and it'll turn my way.'

"Harvs once said he never felt truly comfortable at the top level. That's why he was such a great player – he never took his foot off the pedal, never got complacent. I've got a similar mindset. I've never felt safe, because it's such a hard game."

and from his mum
http://www.themercury.com.au/news/tasma ... 907592b0d3
THE mother of St Kilda skipper Nick Riewoldt has hailed her son a true champion for his selflessness in continuing his late sister’s legacy as he kicked his way into the illustrious 300-game club last night.

An emotional Fiona Riewoldt, who was on the sidelines at her son’s milestone match against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium, said it was a proud moment “for so many reasons”.

“Not only that he has achieved this amazing milestone as a footballer, but as a person he never ceases to amaze me with his humility, humbleness and selflessness,” Mrs Riewoldt said.

“Today he chose to make this about honouring Maddie and it is just indescribable the wave of emotions I am feeling.”
