His attack on the footy and ability to know when to use his pace to attack and defend is very bloody good.

He's Hamill's younger brother.

Absolutely outrageous the Saints didn't include him in the 8 best players they named.
he was superb tonight with his attack on ball and player.
Worked so hard up and back.

+1.

His two goals in the third (especially the second where we were struggling to hit set shots) were massive and Lenny Hayes like in his endeavour to will his team forward!

If this group ultimately makes the big dance, I can see Mav standing up and kicking key goals. Very underrated player

There was a moment after he kicked a goal in the third thanks to Gresh and after he went up to him and just eyeballed him saying that's how you play football. He is tough and the ultimate club man.the thing I love is his improvement. He was such a crap kick at the start of last year, but has turned that around. In the next year or so I'd love to see him push into the midfield more. His power and aggression could be incredibly hard to stop for opposition.

Richo's press conference, he praised the Mav- "we moved him from defence to forward, because we need his pressure up forward etc..." and said good things

Tony74 in this forum, a while ago named a group of players that are always picked, unless injured "because they do what the coach wants, without fail!" #44 is in the group.

Underrated? He plays like Hammil, and is highly valued.

Mav Weller. Incredible performance. Week after week. Has taken to leadership more than anyone else in his age group. Exceptional.

Big time player. Not the first time this year he has found an extra gear when we needed to swing things back our way. Not our best player but does seem to be one that is immune to momentum shifts, seems like a good leader to set an example.
Honestly in disbelief at the players we have found dirt cheap that are now crucial.

I reckon he's the first name on the team sheet every week.

Love watching him play.

He's a real "pop up" kind of player. I don't think he'll ever be this dominating, high possession sort of player but his cameo's (goals, big marks, crunching tackles and physicality) can be priceless.
