Tom Rockliff a saint!?

Post: # 1640612Post The Recruit »

A few confident fellas out there are saying Rockliff is a done deal to the saints.
Rockliff to the Saints for pick 10 and The Lions pick 20.

4 year deal....

I am thinking we would use that pick for Steele.. so pick 10 for Steele and Rockliff...very good trading IMO if it goes through

Seems a bit lopsided our way. I'd take it.

Define "a few confident fellas" and also name the Tweeter or BigFooty nics. So far I have only seen one not very credible source that others have reposted (mainly with sniggers).

Do you not think it odd that on the day that a new coach is named that he would walk? Or would you think it more likely that he would at least talk to the new coach first?

Now that Brisbane have become another Hawthorn subsidiary (Fagan ritual), why would they
offload their only AA recruited this century?

I reckon there are a few fish hooks associated with this bloke.

He gets the ball a lot. But he is not very damaging when he gets it.

Secondly, I think there is an attitude problem with him.

Not so sure he is a good fit for us. Besides we would have to pay him a matzah. Pass.

Not really sold on him either. Seems to get the sooks up quite a bit.

I would much rather keep pick 10.

Honestly im starting to understand the idea of getting rocky.
1. Never been in a good situation up there.
2. Poor coaching
3. Bad Culture.
4. Combination of stubbornness on his part and a bad medical team theyve poorly treated others at the club.
i imagine his leadership style is a result. So what i see is that our style can turn him around, working with Mav, Rooey and Gears i reckon would get him to ease up his style. Add him to the midfield with Armo and Steven and we have a "go to" midfield in crunch time. Hes a goal kicking midfielder which will be handy and can rack up the touches. Getting him and 20 for pick 10 is an absolute steal. Because then 20 gives us flex to go for Steele and/or Hartlett.

We may need to pull a rabbit out of our hat to get this deal done.

Richo has made comments in the past about personality/character being as important as ability. I'd be disappointed if we missed a good kid were this to happen.

Is Waldron a confident fella, they're the ones in the know re Rockliff.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

If what Rockliff's manager said on trade radio today is any guide, he is staying where he is.

Well with what he's asking its a strong possibility, no club has come out and said theyre willing to pay the 800k.
Personally I'd rather chase Mitchell

It shouldn't be hard to lure Rockliff to the Saints when he realises all Saints Ladies rate at least a 9 out of 10 with many rating more than 11.
