Is Billings being played out of position a little and should be higher up the ground? Hard to tell only watching on the telly but are we rushing him into the midfield/wing to quickly and better to let him excel in his regularly position most played before being recruited? Happy to be corrected if this is not entirely correct but just my thoughts watching Sunday's game.

Cos they were high draft picks and therefore deserve special treatment?
No because They both obviously have talent and I would like to see them both have a continuous run in the seniors to see if they can learn to use that talent at the highest level. Some people think the best way is to scare people by putting them on notice, I would like them both to have the freedom to back there natural instincts to see if the skill can translate to the highest level. I don't know what these to would learn by dominating the 2s.

Three players HAVE to be dropped.
The only player guaranteed not to be dropped from the squad is Long.
He can be expected to play a small tackling forward role - that means Lonie is almost certain to be dropped.
He displaced Eli Templeton in this role.
Maybe the most competitive role in football given the number of people (over 50%) in the general population who would be considered small in the AFL.
Then two more must be dropped from the squad.

The shaky ones are most likely Billings, McCartin, Savage and Koby Stevens.
After his game at Sandy you would think Stevens would be a certain inclusion.
BUT although this is not his first AFL game it would be his first for St Kilda and in the video Richardson did not congratulate him on his first game for our club.

If Billings and McCartin play it will be because of their perceived long term potential not because they are in the best 22 available for this game.

Yeah at this stage of our rebuilding I'm hopeful for the perceived potential

Billings has been named in the 18. Doesn't that mean they've been picked? I tohught the guys named on the bench are the ones on the chopping block?

Normally the 3 to come out come from the 5 named on the interchange.

5 Shane Savage
8 Blake Acres
19 Sam Gilbert
20 David Armitage
21 Ben Long
25 Koby Stevens
32 Paddy McCartin

So Billings is most likely safe enough.

Gresh and Lonie are both named on the ground...so with Long would make 3 small forwards. Though Long has played back as well, but not so much in the latter part of his career.

Of that 5, Savage and Paddy look the most vunerable to me. suspect it might be one of Armo or Stevens to miss as well.

Collingwood favourites in the betting.
But that is to be expected given their large membership and following.
AND the lack of football IQ among these.

Hard to believe Lonie is still preferred for Sinclair

It's worse, they've been traded, to the A League.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

He probably a better small forward

Jack is a better mid

Like Eli and Minch... midfielders played as small forwards, not quite good enough at either role in the afl.

All are good little players
Little being the operative word

No. Anyone listed in the squad named can be dropped, whether they are named on the bench or in a position. Why would you telegraph your team to the opposition when you don't need to? There may only be one change for this game, with Long in for Lonie. Whether Armo gets up is not certain.

There will be a dedicated crew of cleaners at Etihad on Sunday.
Called St Kilda.
On the job, taking care of "The Filth" and taking out the trash

The thing i notice with him is he needs the ball in his hands early. You watch the Melbourne game he gets the ball early and looks good. Personally i want to see him playing in Joeys role come 2018. He's too much of an outside player in comparison to what we drafted. from memory they wanted to run him through midfield but likes to get on the outside and use that left foot of his.

With the exception of Roo, our forwards are out of form and Carlisle is still getting his groove back.

This game will be won in the centre.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

Our forwards have been getting plenty of the ball but Bruce, Membery and Weller need to kick straight.
It was mentioned last week that our marking in the forward 50 is above the AFL average.

I would hope he's not confused, he'll get a shot soon. Why would you make a whole raft of changes to a winning team? I appreciate it wasn't a great performance, but there were a number of players who were quiet. I don't think Armo is going to get up, Tony74 alluded to that yesterday. We could get no changes. All will be revealed at 5.30pm today.
