Marshall stepping up

Interesting take from Welsh. Its good to see we are well stocked in the big man department up forward too.
So much potential with both Marshall and Battle IMO. I really like the look of the Battleship. He has a massive running tank and is a big boy. Great kick at goal too. He has all the tools for a modern day key position forward.

Re: Marshall stepping up
There are a lot of wraps on this guy. I wonder why he wasn't taken in the main drafting. Can mark and run and skills seem ok

Re: Marshall stepping up
Put both these guys in the memory banks for later. I expect the odd game this year for them but in 2019 they should be pushing for a more regular spot.
Neither of our rucks are present are good so Marshall has a great chance to get more exposure this year and with Roo gone and the shine off the apple for me with Bruce, BattleAxe should get force his way into the team for a few games, especially if his accuracy is as good as it was in juniors and Bruce missing from right in front again

BattelAxe. Nice one. This guy will become a cult figure when he starts playing regularly. A bit like G Train.

Hope I am wrong but I don't see it with Battle.parkeysainter wrote:http://m.saints.com.au/news/2018-01-30/ ... says-welsh

Good endurance, not quick. Good hands on the lead but little contested marking.
Lacks the athleticism and lateral movement for mine.
Not big enough for a marking KPP and not mobile enough laterally for a skunk type role.
I love the look of Clavarino and think he could be our draft steal.
Great hands and reader of the play, very raw but could be a player.
Have seen too little of Marshall to comment.

I would have thought that we hadn't seen enough of Battle to comment either.Joffa Burns wrote:Hope I am wrong but I don't see it with Battle.parkeysainter wrote:http://m.saints.com.au/news/2018-01-30/ ... says-welsh

Re: Marshall stepping up
Battle has played 1 year. He is a player and we got a bargain at pick 35 or something. Same as Claravino.
Watched him a bit at Sandy but he will still take some time being big of course. He will be too good to play for Sandringham in a year or two.

Re: Marshall stepping up
I think I've seen enough. He'll make it. May take a couple more years, though. A Membrey type. The kid can play.

"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."

"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

I've seen a lot more of Battle than I have Marshall.

Do you think he'll be as mobile, athletic and as good a contested mark as Membery?Drake Huggins wrote:I think I've seen enough. He'll make it. May take a couple more years, though. A Membrey type. The kid can play.

Re: Marshall stepping up
He has tbe same sort of tank as Membrey. Safe hands and a good kick for goal. He is also a "bottom ager" , al a Jack Steven. He has a huge upside. Has a good touch of sel confidence as well. Like Members, it might take a couple of years, but he has all the attributes. I'm talking about Battle, just to make that clear. Love Marshall as well and think he will make it as well.Joffa Burns wrote:Do you think he'll be as mobile, athletic and as good a contested mark as Membery?Drake Huggins wrote:I think I've seen enough.
