I'm pissed off and embarrassed at what my club is dishing up

Richo and coaches have to start taking responsibility, they cant control how players kick for goal and their field kicking during the match but they can control how we train, game plan and who they pick.
We can all see a one paced midfield just doesn't work, Dunstan, Steele, Ross and Armo (Koby), 2 of these just cant play and we need to mix it up.
Geary, Newnes, Gilbert, Savage, really bad decision makers and kicks, some weeks ok, some weeks just terrible but playing all of them all the time gives the opposition plenty of goals and gives us limited chance of winning.
Game style is boring, no fast ball movement. Game tactics are confusing, why pick Marshall over Battle if he is not played as a second ruck? Battle is a true forward and when he gets the ball should be able to slot a goal before the curse gets him. Marshall will be a great FWD/Ruck if we develop him.
Solutions to try and develop a midfield - Just play Dunstan and Ross, mix in Acres and Gresham, add a Gilbert or Geary as the stopper, add some other speed to help Steven (not sure who?) Newnes and Gilbert or Savage cant play, we must replace them with players that can kick. White should be playing, try and play Billings in Savages position, he was an elite junior kick we just need to help him develop. Sinclair needs to be in the team. Very frustrating listening to Richo every week, he swaps and changes, one week its contested footy but our skills are good, next week our kicking is the only problem, next week all players are out of form, everyone at the club talks with this narrative now its goal kicking. The improvement must come with not accepting bad field kicking, not accepting 4 tackles in a season, not accepting missing easy goals, not accepting your leaders and experienced players doing most of these things. Well that's my rant, I'm pissed off and embarrassed at what my club is dishing up. If the club lifts its acceptance standards improvement will come quickly. Get the behaviours required to be great AFL Players locked in and them work on them. Watch the good clubs, they are selfless from top down. We have the rest of the season plus pre season to get things right for next year, its a great opportunity if we take it.

Some good calls in there, particularly re our one-dimensional midfield. Acres at the clearances would be a start. Gresham, too.

The forward line and its lack of structure is of equal concern. We need Bruce back asap, or bite the bullet and move Carlisle forward.

Richo needs to show some daring and try things or he’s finished.

Sadly I don’t expect him to. I expect him to dish up more of the same tired formula that is a proven failure.

I thought we had too many selfish goal hungry players who never lower their eyes within goal kicking distance.

All year they have been ignoring players who are on their own screaming for the ball and forward of the guy with the ball.

Gesham, Billings,Newnes, Steven and Membrey are the worst offenders but there are others.

Then I heard the coach saying to Membrey that if he is range, just take the shot.

That has proven a winner hasn't it?

Not “ broken “ Colleague, more a case of being weary of shelling out good money for almost twenty years, and getting little to show for it other than heartache. There again, it is only Sunday..... Tuesday will see me re- thinking about my re- thinking!

I think we are all seriously frustrated at what is being dished up.

I've been to over 800 StKilda games and only left early four times - twice at 3/4 time to attend weddings, once when one of my kids was feeling unwell, and the 2010 GF replay when I simply couldn't stomach the pain of the enormity of the chance that had been wasted.

But last week at the Melbourne game I seriously wondered why I should bother staying till the end as it was just EXCRUCIATING to watch and there seemed to be no way forward.
Nothing had changed from the series of other insipid performances this year except this was even more insipid.
The skills were woeful, the gameplan unevident, ball movement slow, wrong options taken, players that consistently let us down still getting a game, other players underperforming.
The side that we had high hopes to make finals this year is basically now looking like wooden spooners.
Looks like the rebuild is a failure, we have wasted the last 5 years, and at least 5 years away from being a contender.
Seriously doubting the capacity of our recruiting and coaching staff.
All valid reasons to be pissed off and depressed.

Yes, I did stay till the end, and yes I will be at the Coll game - I guess because you just hope something might happen.
But like many others I am seriously disillusioned.
