Yes, chance for Marshall. Paddy can't take a trick, may have got on the end of a few passes vs Blues. At least the injury is the opposite end to his head.

Might explain to some of the people on here calling for his head, why he had a quiet day and could not get separation. Aside from the 1-3 scenario anyway!

Shouldn't they bring in Marshall and Hickey and dump Billy.

Richo can then rotate them between the Ruck and Full Forward. They'd be strong at Full Forward.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Of course he would be, but he’s out for another two with a fractured eye socket or cheekbone, can’t remember which.

We can’t take a trick this season. No Bruce, no Battle, no Paddy. No Brown down back. Possibly no Carlisle.

That’s our entire first choice goal-to-goal line - excluding our best centreman, Acres, who is back after six weeks out

Am I the only one that finds it weird that if even if they weren’t hurt whilst in the ruck... our makeshift rucks are continually going down...

+2 McCartin & Longer out for Marshall & Hickey who can swap in the forward line. I still think we are one tall short  (considering Membrey a tall for this discussion) as then we only have Marshall & Membrey. Not sure who else can fill the third tall option.

Would actually be quite funny to watch.
A sort of rubbish imitation of Richmond's forward line.

Injuries have been a blessing in disguise.
We were getting smashed in the first 8 rounds with barely any injury and we picked the same team week in week out with minor changes.

Injuries have opportunity to Austin, Rice, Phillips, Battle etc who probably wouldn't have got a run despite our terrible performance.

+1 here. It upsets me to use a Ferrari in the paddock.

The 2nd ruck position is a challenge for all clubs. Personally, I like the idea of Hickey and Marshall resting in the forward pocket. My 2nd choice is to use Sam Gilbert as 2nd ruck, in a role previously known as 'utility'. He can play back, on talls and smalls, he can rotate through the middle or even go forward. And without meaning to be disrespectful, none of us would be too worried if we got a few dings on the paddock bomb.

Sadly but it only hurts the team structure wise which Im sure Marshall can fill adequately.

True Joffa. I just can’t stand the thought of losing to Carlton.

I don’t care what we do from here in in, but we’ve got to win this one.

I thought during the first 8 rounds we had out at various stages McCartin, Membrey, Bruce, Jake, Brown, Roberton, Koby, Acres and others.

I think the win against Melbourne was the closest we came to full strength or best 22 all season, Bruce, Acres and Koby being the only ones missing from that win.

No, I find it weird too, and a bit unbelievable that we are risking players not suited to ruckwork, and racking up injuries, when we have three ruckmen currently in the reserves, two of whom are doing okay, and could have filled a position in the forward line when not in the centre. Mismanagement of players. Marshall should have played Saturday night.

And Ben Long who I think we've missed a lot.
His pace and forward pressure combination has been seemingly impossible for us to replace. In him we have the combination of Lonie's 'smarts' around goal with Weller's tackling ability rolled into a single player.

How could I forget Benny. I was as disappointed about Benny's loss due to injury as any other player that's gone out injured this season. He was just starting to show something special. I'm really hoping he gets back soon and gets a run of games before the pre season.
