Sending the Positives - Saints member

Post: # 1750153Post saintbrat »

Some or many will remember Noddy from both here and the old 'Saints Chat ' which he also assisted with over it's time.

Unfortunately either before or after the last Saints game in Adelaide Noddy ( Geoff) appears to have suffered a heart attack - mild.

The upshot being he had heart surgery to repair and replace pieces last Monday 6th.

He has not come through this well and is currently in a medically induced Coma as they endeavour to stabilise his condition.

His family are with him daily including his wife Jen who is battling aggressive cancers after recurrence of breast cancer.

Noddy said the last Adelaide game was the first in 37 years he has not had Jen by his side.-

There are undoubtedly other Saints fans and members battling illness and My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

The saints need as many rusted on Halos as possible- stick around and share the loyalty.

Thanks Bratty.

That is terrible news.
I hope that he gets well soon. This must be most difficult on his wife who has her own issues.

It certainly puts all of our club woes in perspective !

Oh that is terrible news bratty. Fight on dear Noddy04. I met the Nodster and Jen one time at Etihad when they were over from Adelaide & I from Perth. A lovely couple. I wish them both all the best. Yes Jen has been struggling for years with cancer, she has been a brave fighter. Both true Saints supporters.

Thanks Bratty for the not so good news, please keep us informed.

This is very sad news. I remember noddy from the very early days of ss and the chat site. Wishing him and his wife speedy recoveries.

Nice to see you post again bratty.

Get welll Noddy.

Like Teffers I’ve fought a bit with the Nodster - he’s a true fighter and that will help him now.

(I thought this was a post about a member supporting Richo!)

I second your sentiments re: the nodster Loris. Last season, in the wake of (another) lousy result at Adelaide Oval ( V Crows) I made the mistake of committing my mood to writing on this forum, I was called out for my hissy fit, and given a (much needed?) “kick up the bum” by Noddy04. When sanity returned I sent him a PM as a conciliatory gesture. The response I got was marvellous and said SO much about the man ( and also about our great “ Saints Family”) I was fortunate enough to meet up with Noddy at Adelaide Oval for the Port game.
The time spent in his company provided some light in what was otherwise a very dark afternoon.
Get well SOON Noddster! We Saints need all the folk like you that we can get!
Sending love and best regards
Dave (Jiggster) and all the Power family here in Murrumbeena.

All the best to Geoff and Jen.

In times like this, I wish that there was more that we could all do, but as anonymous posters, it is hard.

Sending best wishes to both Noddy and Mrs Noddy. Certainly remember Noddy from the earlier days when quality posters and posting were both much thicker on the ground......

message from the family today via facebook to friends.
"Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts while Geoff has been battling in ICU. He still has a fair way to go but is now awake and can talk a little. Jenny is so strong, being there by his side whilst going through chemo.......the nurses and doctors agreed that Geoff needed some time outside. "

Nice to see a photo of he and Jenny whilst he was outside.

good luck noddy. my own uncle just went through similar - mild heart attack - angio led to a triple bypass and valve replacement. didn't go well - induced coma in a heart lung machine. fifty-fifty, but woke up a few days ago, and on the up now.
