Much better last quarter by the Saints.

Personal highlight of the game for me. Marshall in the ruck. He was excellent around he ground and most capable in the ruck. Admittedly the opposition rucks were not of high quality, be he took the honours in the ruck and then his around the ground game was very good. Lock him in as our No 1 ruck for Round 1. Best game I have seen from Marshall at this level.

Excited about Marshall. He will prove to be our No.1 ruck

Full time 93 - 79
Frees 14 -40 (to be fair our tackling was woeful but that's a big differential)

Tackling may be because we are trying to learn the new system/technique from Billy.

That’s about a good seasons worth of disposals and marks for Billy!

I agree with you there, I thought the same thing when we played North last week......will prove to be a good pick up and won't be on the rookie list forever.

Special mention for Joyce: His two games this year show massive improvement. He now looks quite comfortable and competent at this level. Body wise he also looks stronger.

If he can continue this rate of improvement we may well have a player. That he is a bit of an athletic beast is a real plus.

Yes, after many tries we may at last have found an Irish player for us. With Carlisle seemingly lost for the season Joyce coming on could be a real boon.

Tons of positives the last 2 weeks. We are looking better already. Suns copped a couple of injuries today. Bring on Rd 1!

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Story of the day for mine. Looked really composed. Brave as hell and really nice disposals. Reckon we've found one.

Most importantly no injuries. Paddy a corky to the arse ( that kept him off more than the head knock), Robbo a bit dizzy at the end . And Jackie boy is rarin to go.

Good news about McCartin.

Importantly, we racked up two wins in the pre-season (albeit low stakes wins for no points), which gives us some momentum going in to round 1.
Considering our outs for today's match, and last week's, the club should be happy with the way we are tracking.
8-9 wins this season looks likely now.

Special mention for Joyce standing under the ball when he must have known what was coming. Courage with a capital 'C'.
(And Benny Long's cameo goal at the end, that was well worth waiting the whole game for).

Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

With all due respect, I find that difficult to believe regarding McCartin.

Copped it hard to the scone, and looked crook as.

Looked winded as he lay on the ground, to me. Fox played and 5 second clip of him rubbing his head? Ive played in a helmet, used to do the same thing. We you there Roger? What else did you see? Was a concussion test done?
