Doults Langers

My new player. He is bif and tough. Looked very good for a first gamer. He just needs a new jumper no for next year.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

He did better than Sinclair today. Good to see Ratten give him a go as he has been very good playing for Sandringham. Need to develop our list.

That's one of the problems with being an AFL coach of a team outside the eight.
You are always looking over your shoulder to see how close the axe is.
You don't select players for the team based on what is best in the long term.
You go with your tried and trusted because you need the greatest probability to win this weekend's game.
And then you do the same again the following weekend.
Supporters want wins NOW, especially if you have been in the job a few years.
A few years of constantly looking over your shoulder at the axe.
Hopefully you will have saved enough money for your family's future by the time the axe falls because you will never earn that size of money ever again.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

The four amigos played kick to kick for a goodly part of the game.

Pity it came unstuck once or twice.

But 4 great recruits from last year all the same.

About the only thing you and I have in common is that we’ve both rated this kid for a while

I’ll give you credit Saynta... you called this one a long long time ago.

Spare a tissue for Jill.

The poor bloke is devo that Cho is gone and knows he’s on the chopping block for Stuv next week.

Hopefully Jill can provide some good support for Sandy for the rest of the season and that era has come to a close.

Stuv needs to do a BOG at Sandy before he gets back in the seniors- cant gift games on name alone.

Actually Ratten picked him out for a special mention. So suck on that.

First player ever to play AFL with the given name of Doulton, I'm told.

And he is a beauty.

And there lies the problem he had in a nutshell. It was the tried & trusted that got him into that position to begin with, ignoring kids with more upside. The only time they were recognised was after an injury to the tried & trusted, then banished again, leaving us to bemoan why our kids show nothing and fail to be developed.

I thought he'd be bigger

Liked the game from the boy.
Was in the heart of the action early in the first 1/4 which probably helped him settle.

Royal Doulton is a good name.

It’s better than Garrick Ibbitson that had both shyte first and last names.
