Now I understand how the team is selected.
I knew it was selected on merit but never thought it was on merit in a quiz.

As much as I didn't think it was a good idea to draft him - I think we should have given the spot to someone else - the reports about what this guy brought to the club in terms of professionalism and dedication indicated to me that he deserved a game.

It is a thank you game.
Give him his 100th and say thanks and goodbye.
It is a meaningless game for us and Sydney and this is just a feel good finish to the season.
I am happy with the idea.

Nice touch. Send message to the players around that there is a human side to how we treat players on the list. Especially someone like Rowe and all he had to deal with during his career- to let him finish up with game 100

He is 31 years old.
His contract was only for this year.
Lets see if he can play 1st ruck.
If so maybe extend him as insurance for Marshall.
Play Marshall as a forward this game.
Maybe at centre half forward.
The game does not matter, experiment for the future.

Agree with Ace - nothing to lose. Let's trial Marshall as a Forward for some of the game and ruck Rowe for a while.

It is only one game, but it gives the coaches "a look."

I'm happy with this. We're totally up against it with Buddy's 300th (maybe) and a cavalcade of Sydney retirees. We need anything we can to get a bit of a lift.

We caused Rowe a lot of grief with his other VFL club - I reckon this is a fair thing even if he never plays again.
