First game this year I’ve been able to watch live on telly. Boys are doing pretty well. Both teams fumbling. I imagine crud wind would be an issue as it’s been very windy here for the last two days

Might as well play a small at FF..might take more marks- King is tall forward whose job is to take marks, not drop most of them.

Brisbane more shots at goal.
But we could have had at least as many if
- King had held those marks
- Members hadn't stuffed up those two goal square brain fades
- we had hit some targets I50 with those Q1 bombs

We’re playing s*** against the second team at their home ground and we’re four points down.

Bruce just seemed to think the umpire blunder was "funny"!!!!

Is this a Brisbane only rule
Last year
8. Marking contests

The ‘hands in the back’ rule interpretation has been repealed so a player can now place his hands on the back of his opponent to protect his position in a marking contest, provided he does not push his opponent in the back.

Absolutely still in this if we move the ball quickly and kick it to our forwards advantage, then lock it in there when they get it.

King has had more possessions than Billings...

Key to this game is to get Billings into the play. Do that and we win.

Boy if everybody just had Ross’ endeavour we’d never bloody lose... love his commitment to the contest. He needs to handball every time though

Sinclair is looking at being dropped on this performance... not only is he hanging back off the contest but his disposal has been extremely poor

King needs to start grabbing them... could have three

Something has to be done about umpire Foot.

He does this to us every time. He has awarded 4 doubtful frees to Lions all resulting in scoring opportunities or goals and not one free to us and there have been plenty he could have paid. And of course didn't pay an obvious 50 to Butler.

Seriously got to say something about the umpiring today. Absolutely shocking. The AFL needs to pour some real money into training & development because most of them out there are making inexcusable decisions week in week out. The standard is embarrassing.

Saints are making some silly mistakes but not a patch on the umpires!

Also want to see some of our players take the shot from inside 50 on the run instead of dinky passes

One has to flag Kent too - 3 disposals and one goal isn’t enough of a contribution for mine

I hope Ratts moves Marshall to FF at 1/2, Andrew's is too smart for King and we need a contest and to stop his influence. Need a lift from Billings, Sinclair, Long, Coffield, Wilkie and Hill (again).

1. How is 15 metres measured between the two teams?
2. How long before you have to play on between the two teams?
3. Is it ok to bump Paton in the head off the ball and it's play on?
4. Hands in the back in a ruck contest is fine is it?

Nee!

Our forward line always looks crowded with the talls trying to out mark each other and no room for the smalls to run in for Kings fumbles

Jones getting a fair bit of footy but wasted some kicks

Marshall is our barometer. I’d have him play alongside Ryder for some tap outs. He is so so good at getting clearances

Ryder was dominating centre bounce but it got stuck in congestion. We need to play the way Freo used to with Sandilands

Punch it 5-10 metres clear and have a plan.

Overall I think we are playing ok. Howard, Carlisle and defenders need to tighten up a bit

Give some credit to Brisbane. We cant get inside quick, so we get congested.

Smalls need to lift and not let the ball the f*** out.

We can win this one. No doubt about it.

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

It's like if someone leads then they know the player up-field won't pass plus they'll get puffed by leading; so they don't lead and all congregate 20m out. :?
