Injury update

Post: # 1892249Post saynta »

from afl.com.au

Ryan Byrnes Hamstring 2-4 weeks
Brad Crouch Suspension Round three
James Frawley Hamstring 4-8 weeks
Jarryn Geary Fractured leg 2-4 weeks
Dan Hannebery Calf 1-2 weeks
Rowan Marshall Foot 1-3 weeks
Ben Paton Broken leg Season
Paddy Ryder Personal leave Indefinite
Updated: Tuesday, March 23
Early prognosis

Max King (concussion) will return to face Melbourne, while Zak Jones is expected to be selected. The speedster suffered a corkie in the week leading into round one that delayed his build-up from a pre-season hamstring injury. Hannebery is still missing, while Marshall has picked up his recovery from a hotspot in his foot. Byrnes is picking up the pace in his recovery from a high-end hamstring setback, while Geary isn't far away. - Mitch Cleary

Boy the Hannebery/Hamil 2 weeks joke is writing itself at the moment

He’s been 2 weeks away for almost three months

Yep...

Hopefully we get King and Jones back this week, and then Marshall and Ryder back not long after that.

Injuries during the season are guaranteed, so it's probably a good thing that we're having selection issues already with so many to come back.

Hannas is doing fine.
Rate he is going, he’ll be able to run up and down his sisters stairs all day long, in December.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

I wonder if I can get odds on Gears actually returning to the field after that broken leg before Hannebery does. ;)

And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

It would be nice to hear from the club as to how Paton is doing?

Geez it'd be great to be fielding this team in a month or so

B: Webster, Howard, Wilkie
HB: Coffield, Carlisle, Sinclair
C: Hill, Steele, Billings
HF: Gresham, Marshall, Higgins
F: Butler, King, Membrey

Foll: Ryder, Crouch, Clark
Int: Battle, Hannebery, Jones, Ross

Emg: Long, Lonie, McKernan, Highmore

That's easily a top 4 team IMO. I guess we probably have to put a line through Carlisle's chance of being selected though. And the odds of both Hanners and Jones being fit at the same time are astronomically low.

Yes Carlisle seems to be out of favour, and as such we might have to wait till Frawley returns to get the balance right in our back half.

On 10th April we play WCE with their tall forward line. So how we structure up for that game down back will be most interesting.

5 days later we play the Tigers. And as per our shitty fixture this year the Tiger have 6 day break, whereas we only have 5 days.
