He will take two weeks minimum to get game ready and a game in VFL most likely so that is a game 6-7 return. Based on current form and fixture we will msot likly be 1-5 or 2-4. Might be a little late to save the season

A half fit Paddy would be 10 times more valuable than the rejects we have been playing in the ruck.

...ooops....You just lost your house ace. When are you going to hand over title?
My house way way back in time

I did a titles search, but the Dept of Environment, Lands, Water & Planning said that Titles did not exist way way back in time.
Seems Titles, that writing stuff, even First Nations and flags were all cultural misappropriations.
But the wheel will turn once it is invented.
Seems I don't have a title to this house, what a dud.

ST KILDA will put Paddy Ryder through a mini pre-season over the next fortnight after the ruckman returned to Moorabbin on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old was back in light training at RSEA Park, a month after being granted personal leave to re-connect with his family and elders in South Australia. Ryder won't be available for the Saints' crunch match with West Coast on Saturday but will put his hand up for a recall in coming weeks.

While he's been completing training away from the club, the Saints will look to build his conditioning back up to AFL standard ahead of a season-defining stretch that includes the Eagles, Richmond and Port Adelaide.

No.1 ruckman Rowan Marshall will be considered for the date with Nic Naitanui and the Eagles after playing a half in a VFL practice match on Saturday following a hotspot in his foot.

The Saints' ruck division is expected to have another shake-up with Shaun McKernan and Jake Carlisle upstaged by Bomber Peter Wright in Saturday's horror loss to Essendon.

WTF?

https://www.saints.com.au/news/899786/r ... or-round-4

Another three weeks for Ryder. So he’ll come back in Round 6 or 7. That’s seriously stretching it. A third of the season away. Not ok by me.

On the plus side, he doesn't need to do much of a 'pre-season' to get up to the same standard as the rest of the team.

A half-fit Ryder will be more valuable than Hunter or McKernan.

Better presence, better marking, more chance of a tap to advantage

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Heard he’s not playing for a month

Doing a training block first

I’d say a couple of weeks, depending on how bad our season gets.

Key message: ruck stocks are important. Clearly not as important as having any number of half back flankers because that's what our list profile shows is the priority, but possibly something for recruiters to consider. But who could have foreseen that. Other than 17 opposition clubs that is. Jason Holmes, still interested? Benny Mc, Timmy? no sorry Billy, although after Saturday's debacle......

Agree however also be a better chance to do a hammy and be out for weeks if under done.

Begs the question, why wasn't Paddy professional enough to maintain his fitness level, or is he just going through the motions to pick up his pay cheque?

He pretty much single-handedly won us that Dogs final, if you recall. Been having a hard time and had a break, needs to get AFL match fitness which should only take two weeks.

Might be worth showing a little respect to the big fella if you're capable.
