Winner+Margin vs our next Coach

Post: # 1898968Post MickThomas »

Clarkson will get a good look at his next team, does anyone think he'll be impressed enough to have a coffee with Finnis +Lethlean and talk about remuneration, or will he just respond to the emails by saying 'I'm flattered, but your club doesn't need a new coach, it needs divine intervention'

My prediction: Hawks by 33 pts

We'll be in it at half time, we'll have more fwd entries, but King will miss 4 shots from close in front and drop his bundle again.
He'll end up with 7-8 disposals for the day.
Butler to have 1.2, from 6 possies

Steele Sainter of The Day.

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

If we beat the Hawks, we'll definitely get rolled by the Cats.
After a win, the boys drink their own bathwater and believe they're top4.
Always happens

I was thinking that if I was Clarkson I would let myself be poached by Gold Coast. A fantastic list of kids to grow and a great place to work and live. A 5 year contract with at least 3 years honeymoon.

End up with a prime property up there for the rest of your life and maybe a flag at two clubs. Then the media for 10 years and Bob's your Uncle.

That will earn him legend status if he can get the Suns a premiership. Can’t see it happening for a little while though

Unless ...maybe Dew quits and checks himself into one of those fat farms...sorry, I meant weight loss camps

Maybe old man Fagan suddenly ....retires and he does it with Brisbane.

I think the Pies might have first dibs on Clarko.

Back on us. Our chances of a respectable performance rest with the attitude of the players. When you are down but care, you get angry and just get to work. You care that you are being accused of bruise free footy. Let's see if they can win the tackle count and hurt the opposition physically. Time to turn mongrel. It's that simple.

I think we have turned to sh*t as a club this season, and the playing group are a lazy bunch of slackers coached by a nice bloke who can't really coach that well .

The Hawks are not great, but have good team spirit as shown in their ability to come from behind and win and I expect we will get done by 30 points.

Give Harvey a go at the senior coach role

Is nowhere safe from opinion as facts.
Love to see a reasoned argument about Brett being replaced because the team got injury ravaged. Has super hero powers but refuses to use them?
I do of course accept the proposition that Clarkson has a magic wand and no abiding investment in Hawthorn. Why would he see rebuilding the Hawthorn team as the ultimate achievement to go with all those premierships. Never struck me as a fair weather friend, but you cant tell from a distance.

I think last year, the hub worked extremely well for the team as follows.
In normal life, we go to work, do our jobs, and go home.
In the hub, I think there must have been a lot of honesty and transparency because the squad was effectively in a closed training camp. There was nowhere to hide, really.

This year, they've gone back to normal routine with family commitments, so a lot of them aren't invested to the same degree.
I'm looking at Butler in particular, and Hill, Sincs, Battle, Long, etc.

Whatever the result, I will be watching it on TV as I am not going to waste petrol money on this group at the moment.

As I don't live in Melbourne, I can't boycott the games, but I actually hope all the games this year have very low crowds, because it would be a reality check for the fools who run the club, that folks have had enough.

IMO we have a decent chance if the real St. Kilda turns up but you never know do you. Team for team we should win by around 4 or 5 goals but our actual form & game plan (if we do have one )doesn't fill me with confidence but we couldn't be that bad 3 weeks in a row surely so just on the law of averages Saints by 4 points

I'd be tipping even North to beat us with our current insipid game.

Wasn't Ratten being lauded as a genius last year? 14th to 5th. Not a bad effort for a bloke who can't coach. He proved he could coach when he got the rabble at Carlton into finals and was dumped, prematurely.

My Carlton barracking mates would welcome him back with open arms. From what I've seen this year (4 games live), the fault probably lies with the fitness gurus. That or laziness. They don't seem to run as hard as the opposition. Except for Steele and Ross.

Something's crook alright. We'll know more after tomorrow's game. I'm going. Next week it's Gold Coast up there. The King Cup. That's the one I'm really scared we might get a good old fashioned, embarrassing arse whooping from a fellow cellar dweller.

My Carlton-mad mates were happy to see Ratts go at the time.

Mine were too. Last year they were lamenting his loss. He was a better coach at Carlton than Pagan and Mickey Shithouse.
