Have a freakin crack.

Dont let them play the possession game. Because you can bet the lot on the fact that they will play us the exact same way they did last year.

They've got several defenders that will start attacks in their D50, with scary accuracy.
Ability to go coast-to-coast without oppo touching the ball.
Unless our fwds create space and chaos, we're in for a world of hurt.
I can't see Butler having any impact at all, he's been found out and their defenders will lead him a merry dance.

We could be in our F50 for 70% of a quarter, and only score 1 or 2 goals.

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

I'm looking forward to Geelong - even if we get crushed, at least we will know what we're missing/what we'll need to become a top side.

Either way (win, lose or draw), we will find out where we're at.

Agree.

I think we’ll do ok. Not saying we’ll win or anything but might do better than expected whatever that means.

Geelong are the only team we haven't beaten between 2017-2021.

We also haven't kicked over 100 points against them since 2006.

Yep, a classic case of one team having the wood over the other.

On paper it’s much closer.

If we turn up we can give it a shake. If we don’t it’s another ugly drubbing.

I’d love for us to bring their whinging, entitled coach down a couple of rungs.

Assuming Ross comes in for Wood this week, there will only be three players that have played in a St Kilda win over Geelong...

Seb Ross, Tim Membrey & Jimmy Webster all played in the 3 point win in 2016.

However, Dan Butler (2), Brad Crouch (3), Jack Higgins (2), Brad Hill (6), Dougal Howard (1), Zak Jones (4) & Paddy Ryder (1) have combined for 19 wins over the Cats.

James Frawley also has 4.

Going to a St Kilda game is a bit like going to the dentist for a check up.

You either walk out -

happy that all is good until your check up ....

Satisfied that you came away with a scrape and a clean ....

Slightly reeling from a couple of regulation fillings or

Totally in shock from a root canal and a removal of one of your back molar teeth.

I would say all of us are sporting dentures.

I thought it was at the Dome?
Just noticed that thanks. Might make the free kick count a little less one sided...
Don't worry, you are not far wrong.

Geelong's record at Colonial-Etihad-Marvel etc., is the best in the league, better than most teams at their home grounds.
37 games for 27 wins. It's amazing how well they play the ground.

We've played over 70 games there, so we should win on Friday.

You're correct in that Geelong have the best record at Docklands (66%), but the numbers are a little off...

Geelong have played 98 games at Docklands, for 65 wins.
We have played 260 games at Docklands, for 143 wins.

We have played each other 16 times at Docklands, St Kilda 7 wins, Geelong 8 wins, 1 draw.

At Docklands, Geelong's win ratio of 50% vs St Kilda is their equal worst of any opposition (also 50% vs Collingwood).
