It was either Higgins or Butler IMO, not both, and I think Higgins had a very ordinary defensive game

HILL out
Butler should get a scare, seeing Snags out.
Next week, Snags back and Butler out
Marshall shouldn't be playing, he's far from his best. Injured?
At least they didn't promote Campbell, even though he got a lot of hit-outs.

How many scares does Butler need?! Wow.
Ffs.. higgins hasnt played great but no worse then butler. At least higgins has shown he can kick bags and be a match winner.

Maybe due to small ground we only need 1 ruck but Marshall will want to lift significantly.

Unfortunate dmac pulled a calf at training.

Wonder what the go is with Hill, he hasn't looked right for a couple weeks now..
Hopefully we crack in this week..

Not a strong side.
Owens and DMac sorely missed.
Only one ruck who is out of form.
Shows for all the (misplaced) optimism - not much depth.
Wood must be considered badly out of form. And what of Campbell after a good game in VFL?
Wish Brad all the best.
I am surprised we are not over $3 with the books. I'd have expected $3.40 following the team announcement.
Hoping for blinders from Billings, Clark and Windhager.

Oh well let's just hope they give a lot better effort than last week. Team on paper looks average but if they all have a crack who knows

If there is any serious thought at the club about making finals, then this game needs to be the turning point, but jeez, with Marshall on one leg we have practically no rucks and Battle will be spending time there. I have a feeling that Marshall wont last the first quarter, and Joyce will be the medi sub and come in and play at CHB, while Battle or King share the ruck, with Sharman parked at FF

Sharman for Higgins makes sense as a kind of like for like: both forwards looking to run into space rather than into contests.

I’m glad Butler kept his spot: forward defence is critically important on the SCG.

It’s a bugger that DMac and Hill can’t play. I think that puts us behind the 8 ball a bit. But let’s hope Windhager and Sharman can bring their Sandy form to the seniors. And perhaps Byrnes can do a bit more this week.

Unfortunately it's still a swiss cheese list, it'll make the off season very interesting, who goes off the list and who gets put on it.

The saints might win this week, you never know with this mob.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Higgins dropped for selfishness. Got away with it early in the year but obviously didn’t learn.
A few very lucky to hold spots but injuries to McKenzie, Hill, McKenzie, Ryder and Owen’s have saved them

I wonder who will be our backup ruckman - Battle or Sharman? That will give Sydney a big advantage as Reid is actually quite good as their 2nd ruck, but if its Battle he gives plenty around the ground.

Marshall plays his best footy when he the No 1 ruckman so look for him to return to form and have a big game.

DMac is stiff not to be an automatic return? Perhaps he is still feeling the affects of the concussion? NWM lack of physicality was really exposed last week, hopefully he can improve this week as Sydney have strong running & scoring wings.

Im not sorry to see Hill out he needed to be dropped after the Brisbane game. Hopefully he can reset and get his head back in the game.

I think Steele will make a huge impact in the centre, all the mids will get a boost.

Marshall on his own concerns me, he's just not himself, and likely carrying an injury.

I'd have tolerated giving the boy Heath a crack, he may even add value forward and diverted attention from Max like Jack Hayes.

Yep, agree. Use him just sparingly in the ruck for now

Only that his return would have to wait at least another week, also that it was minor. Hopefully he’s ok for next match.

WOW, not much selection here!!

Surely Leinert or Joyce come into allow Battle to go forward and play 3rd tall and 2nd ruck.

This Marshall "on one leg" has ironically grown legs. He had a bad corkie which he's come through. He's just been horribly out of form. Surely we've learnt about playing injured players, we've just not learnt about playing out of form ones.

Good luck to the lads on Saturday night, we only ask they have a dip, not the roll over rubbish of last week.

Unfortunately it has come to this.

I've said the same thing this week but it reeks of a bottom 8 team trying to get an honorable loss and not get thrashed as opposed to a team that was top 4 two weeks ago and is gunning for a finals spot.

Bit like the entire Richo era...

Or just the talk of beaten down, long term st.kilda supporters, we'll see if this team is made of sterner stuff..

Can’t see us winning this game Unless Marshall plays a blinder we will lose the hit outs and the loss of hill ..not good
