How do you think they’d go?

Mason has 7cm on Jack..

Jack has 40K on Mason in Supercoach..

Mason Wood was in career best form in the first 6 weeks, it would be real handy if he can recapture that.

I keep trying to tell myself that if Jack Newnes is playing for Carlton how good can they really be.

But they are really good. Their star forwards take marks and kick goals, so do their smalls. I wonder why we can't do that.

Anyway, if Mason gets to play on Jack it will be a big mismatch in our favour. Trouble is mismatches only matter if you have the ball and use it to advantage. We have not been to good at either recently.

Read the Zebs report.
Wood got 13 touches.

Will he force his way in 🤷‍♂️

Newnes has more value in Supercoach and has gone up in value this year.
Mason is fast and skilled. Interesting to see.
I suppose height difference will be a factor
They probably won5 line up together

His 13 were better than Highmore’s 35 😳

Amartey liked playing on Highmore, i suspect that's why Highmore wasn't selected.

Newnes 41 AFL fantasy points, Wood 48
Newnes 13 disposals, 7 kicks, 6 handpasses, Wood 8 kicks 4 handballs
Newnes 2 marks, Wood 4 marks
Newnes 1 tackle, Wood 1 tackle
Newnes 1 clearance, Wood 1 clearance
Newnes 187 metres gained, 253 metres

Wood definitely wins despite less time

Newnes 87% time on ground, Wood 75%

We are a better team Wood in it his defensive running cannot be measured by SuperCoach

When he and McKenzie play we are a much better team.

I can see why Norf got rid of Wood, he's ok but he'll never be great.

Woods good enough to be on the list as depth maybe but he’s simply too unskilled with a huge fluctuation from his best to worst.

That play in the last quarter when he was streaming forward and kicked into the F50, kicked to a Carlton player on the boundary line... not even to a contest is emblematic of a huge problem in our club. Tries hard but simply not good enough. He’s not Dmac and IMO a player that needs to be upgraded if we’re going to seriously contend.

I think Wood competes as well as anyone on our list.
He's not in Battle's league though- Battle would wrestle a crocodile.
Wood seems to know when and where to run to apply pressure, and he certainly commits to being physical.

Here's the thing about players like Wood, he makes mistakes and he's not a flag type player, he's a role player, he's a depth player but if he doesn't play last night and a skinny kid who's not up to it plays...we lose. Now that may upset the supporters who believe losing is better as long as you play kids in tbe belief it is better for the club long term but something tells me winning is much better long term for the club culture, ESPECIALLY, when it is a prime time Friday TV slot.

Woods defensive work makes us better. Took a really strong contested mark deep in defence last night.

There's two types of skinny kids, one's who are up to it, and one's who aren't. NWM is holding his spot nicely huh. He played really well last night.

From what I saw, Jack Newnes played across half back and was on Dan Butler most of the time. Two goals was Dan's best return since Round 4.

On Dan Butler, I wonder if anyone else has noticed that there is zero interaction between Dan and Jack Higgins after either one goals, or at any other time during the game.

Mason Wood has poor disposal, which is strange because his kicking style seems good. He's one of those players who looks like he should be bettered than he is. His "header" to Max was good in the last quarter.

My Missus thinks Mason is heaps better looking that Newnes.

The difference between his best and worst has always been his issue. He can look like a world beater for a game or two and then not touch it for 3 weeks in a row.

Lol now we’ve got “2 types of skinny kids” in a thread about Wood used in a perverted way to have a shot at Sharman??
Just insane hatred for the kid whose playing a leading forward role compared to an in/out of the cane winger?
Just bizarre …
I love the irony
Woods good for our structure
Sharman can’t be??
Lol
Thought the Blues 2 big leading targets looked dangerous btw but they’re no Dan Butler!

Teffers maaaaaate, you are going to do yourself a mischief if you don't get over that terribly gutsy win by the boys. They can't lose every week.

I think Wood always looked skilled at Norf but had a few injuries and couldn’t get a good run.
I think he’s probably in our bottom third of our 22 and a lot of competition for those spots.
Wouldn’t be a star in a crap side but good for us where we are at and may get better in a better team.
