Hunter Clark

Post: # 1977291Post Banger9798 »

Some talk on SEN apparently that he maybe up for a move.

Something tells me it wouldn't be a bad idea, as he has flat-lined at the Saints. Has not been helped by injuries, but I can understand if he was up for a change.

As much as I like him I reckon in might be a good idea, got a feeling it just won't work put for him with us .

If Hill gets traded to NM, and we lose Clark...we really need to retain NWM

No way should we trade Clark for a loss. ie. less than a top 10 draft pick, unless there is a problem with his attitude. Give him a chance to have a good run at it.

I'd be seriously pissed off if we traded away Hunter Clark. It would convince me that the powers that be have lost the plot

If he can't step up to being a mid, then he is tradable

We are overloaded in the half back line, and we have Coffield coming back.

We need genuine inside/outside Mids....how far off is Hunter from being that?

Or do we take an early draft pick while he has currency?

Big questions as to whether he can or will get fit enough .

I'd do the deal for GCs first

Why does he need to move I don’t understand it’s only been injuries the last 2 yrs that have stuffed him up.
Could he develop a tank and run up and back on the wing? From memory he used to be a good kick and user of the ball

No way.
One of the only decent ball users we have. We are a team of ball butchers we cant afford to lose one of a few who actually hit a target more than the don't.

We have already lost Hannebery and Ryder.

If we trade or lose Hill, Billings, Gresham, Long, Bytel, Byrnes and Clark, we will be a certainty for the bottom four on the ladder in 2023.

Talk about f****** madness.

I wouldnt like to see him leave - but he really needs a huge off season to get his body & running to elite levels. I really cant see his present trade value being good enough to let him go? But if a club came up with a top 10 pick for trade (highly unlikely) then the Saints should consider it.

One thing to remember at this time of year Journos throw a lot of hail mary's. The theory is 'unless outlandish' people forget the ones they get wrong and if they get it right they claim they broke the story a month ago.
When challenged about claims they roll out "I stand by the story at the time, however things have changed since then bu at the time i was right" . For many this mean s" i took a stab in the dark it didn't work so move on"

Hunter has a lot of skills with the ball in hand- good disposal and good use of his body in traffic, but off the ball, he is a bit slow to recover and not that good defensively. Presuming he stays, he really needs a huge preseason to build his tank, and needs some good defensive coaching.

No.

His stocks are at an all-time low. We wouldn't get much for him

I think we back him to get fit and healthy and back him in to improve

Media trawl sites such as this, then peddle the rubbish put on these sites.

The position St Kilda is currently in sees them needing to build on the class players we currently have on our List.

The loss of Ryder and Hannebery sees an absence of experienced class - and St Kilda's improvement is contingent therefore on players such as Clark filling that considerable void.

Neither. It’s a garbage rumour with no basis.

I really don't wont to trade him lets see him have a season with not shoulder problems or broken jaw I really think we need the 22-28 players if we loose some of the others.
But if we did trade him to GC swap for Bing we also give them jones and a 4 rounder we get Bing and 3 rounder.
I know I am dreaming but they now no they can get by with out Bing in the side so may be tradeable.

This would be rubbish. It would also show the Club failed to learn any lesson from moving Acres on in regards to identifying player's strengths and capabilities.

Clark, like Acres, draws players to him and always attempts to put the ball to advantage. Clark has courage and footy smarts. I'd like to see him play a full season after an uninterrupted pre season of running and weights.

If we are to believe all the rumours and add some facts then our main list has lost...

Ryder
Hannebery
Kent

Hill
Bytel
Long
Clark

Something tells me it would be a bad idea for St Kilda, even if it may be a good idea for Clark personally.

His trade value at present would be minimal. Basically we would just be giving him away.

He has had a horrific, and mainly freakish as were impact injuries, injury run for two years.
Much better IMO that he plays on next year. Hopefully he can have a good run and show the talent we know that he has.

I blame the recruiters and Ratts if we lose Hunter, the recruiters should be bringing in players with harder heads with stronger jaws and noses. And Ratts is clearly training the players wrong, clearly Hunter is too courageous and needs to be less ferocious at the contest. I think the game plan might be to blame too but not sure how...but it is.

Hunter is a goodie...

Yes, he hasn't set the world on fire, ditto

Byrnes and Bytel

Coff and Paton off and on..

Jones patchy

Ross and Hill and great first halfs of the season

Gee, I don't wanna see Hunter go.

But lemme ask, would you swap Hunter for the other Crouch?

At what point did we ever have Hannebery? Asking for a friend.
