To the Crouch doubters

Post: # 2010128Post terry smith rules »

FYI
This year (in AFL total)
19th for disposal
15th for contested possessions
17th for tackles
24th for total clearances

Above average (for the AFL) in nearly all key indices for midfields (check it out on the AFL website)

I love how he plays and we need him in the team

He had a cracking start to the year (as evidenced by the stats) which is why it's so disappointing when he disappeared for the last 3 games.

Firey, do Specsavers have a local branch? I'll make an appointment for you.

Exactly this. I rate him highly but he's been crap for a while after an awesome start to the season. Seb has had a similar trajectory - started in career best form and now he should probably be dropped

Good player, but you wouldn’t put him quite in the same class as Bont/Dusty/Danger/Fyfe etc.

Our midfield is solid and serviceable and has reasonable depth. It’s pretty good really, but a match-winning superstar wouldn’t go astray.

Yeah I posted this somewhere else… the Carlton to Port turnaround saw with it a sharp dip in form and IMO a few tired bodies emerged.

I think Crouch is one of a few that is perhaps looking forward the bye.

Personally… I would have gotten a full game or two into a Bytel/Windhager and maybe rested a few guys, one at a time for a week.

I reckon Crouch, Seb and maybe Byrnes would all be better for it

Is Crouch playing with an injury?

Have they changed his role? Ie a more defensive mid so getting less of his own ball. I would have thought that was Ross’ role.

I thought Crouch was ok yesterday.

Less tackles, less FA after the first 5 rounds. Don't think it's a defensive shift as you'd expect both of those stats to go up.

Even though I get my specs from the $2 shop I still reckon he needs to do more and I think he is capable to do so

Don’t get me wrong I like him as a player but have that funny feeling that we could get more out of him

anyone who thinks Crouch is no good also thinks Sharman is an AFL footballer, I'll let others connect the dots.

Probably is leading the TB medal after round 10, if injury does't hit he could go close to winning it.

I would think Sincs is well and truly ahead of him.

has not had the consistent high levels from last year, Crouch has improved his numbers and has been consistent since R1

If you had the choice between Sinclair and Crouch, who would you pick?

Hey BTW I have almost got your Sharmi scarf finished, it's taking a while because I had to re knit it in Sandy colours, but I'm now wondering if I should re knit it in the colours of the South Australian team he'll be playing for next year, what would you prefer.

Knit yourself a black-and-white one and leave “US” alone

Go easy on ol' Secret_Vortex, he's still holding out for the lists to be cut to 35 due to COVID...

Sincs would be leading the B&F comfortably

Wilkie easily second

Others doing ok
Wood, Marshall, Crouch, Hill, Higgins, Ross, Byrnes, Battle

In that order imo
