Sharman had a really good game. No chance of him being delisted at seasons end.

Saw the last 45 minutes of the game. As usual with Sandy, almost unwatchable.

Sharman was by far our best in that period.

Hotton has an AFL-ready body, and is quick. Just saw a couple of things that made me think he's got a bit to offer.

Honestly, the standard of these games is absolutely appalling. What's been noticeable watching Sandy this year is the atrocious ball movement. It seems every other team is able to transition from defence to attack with some fluency except the Sandy team. Would hate to be a forward in that team

Highmore and Sharman our best, Paton got a fair bit of it but butchered a lot of disposals. Bit early to make a call on Hotton but doubt if Keeler will make it, Heath a chance but Van Es, Adams and Peris long shots. Members still has a bit of work in front of him if he is to get back to AFL level.

Really hard to truly evaluate first year players when they're playing in that atrocious team. All you can do is catch glimpses here and there.

The one I'm most concerned about, though, is Van Es. Seems to have an enormous amount to learn about body positioning, and has difficulty impacting contests. I'm not writing hom off based on what I've seen, though. Players have surprised me before after wobbly starts.

Keeler has shown glimpses, as has Peris. Leo Connolly is an outside player being played as an inside mid, and it shows. Much better suited to half back .

Given Hotton's speed and his quick lateral movement, I'm pretty optimistic even after such a brief look.

How many Sandringham games have you watched this year? Its hard to make judgement on 18yo's some of who had no pre season after a few games. They have all shown snippets at times and definitely enough to see why they were drafted. Peris has had a pretty good year and apart from Bytel he would be next to get the call up if an AFL position was available.

I completely disagree re Keeler I have seen enough to suggest he will be a star if he puts in the work. Most tall kids take 2 or 3 years to find their feet, sometimes longer have patience.

I agree with cwrcyn on Van Es, but I feel it more a lack of intensity than anything. He must be a fairly laconic lad, as he seems to just coast around and rarely looks to be going at full steam. Im hoping its just him finding his way and he learns to bring more effort and purpose with confidence and experience.

Yeah I’d buy that.

Hammer’s ok… seems to have lost that desperation/aggression he had when he debuted. He’s never gotten great numbers but his attack on the contest was first rate.

I guess since King game back, he’s struggled not being the focal point.

I think a few weeks back to Sandy to earn his way in is reasonable

What a buzzkill. The form of Sandringham is an absolute diabolical disaster once again. Lose to a team that hadn't won a game until mid way through the season. Well, there's a surprise!!! What a turnup for the books!!!

We have to start a reserves side with a real view to developing players. Please!

This Sandringham alignment is a millstone around the St Kilda FC's neck.

It's a nursery. Some seedlings will bloom. It takes time to nurture young footballers especially big guys. Can't rush it but can ruin the crop by trying to rush things. Team work is typically needed to win footy games and that requires continuity. By definition feeder clubs lack that luxury so results don't matter as much.
