Dew getting sacked?

Post: # 2019549Post lewdogs »

There's some talk around that Dew will be sacked today. Adds an interesting element to this weeks game...

A 'must win' game just got considerably harder.

Saints' luck.

So they'll now "go through a process" to appoint Hardwick?

The Suns have already got in touch with Bassett to get a copy of his “process”

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2022/07/12/ ... ts-a-club/

Article from last year on response to sackings.

"Since 2012, clubs are 5-7 after a coach has left and a caretaker has stepped in.

The average winning margin in those five victories is 38.2 points. The average losing margin for the seven defeats is 40.2 points."

Can't remember where I heard this but, some comments were made on radio or afl.com.au or on FoxFooty that the directive came from the AFL commission and it wasn't a decision by the GC Suns board

Carro has a 'thorthe' at AFL house so it makes sense that she went early with the declaration that Dews days were numbered

Most teams would not have been 7 wins 9 nine loses with a % of 92

Hopefully won’t be a factor on the game.

Is King the caretaker coach?

Will Lyon lose another game to one of his disciples?

Don’t forget West Coast after crowd boycott and record loss, Kangaroos after pressure on Clarkson during the week. Hawthorn after record win vs west coast (confident). Melbourne after a shock loss. Adelaide after a loss.
Does everyone just wait to play St kilda to make a statement?

We won the Duddy game lol!!

I’m quite shocked about Dewy getting the chop. The Suns have been very competitive this year only getting smashed a couple of games. The crowds have been ok from what I hear. Sounds like it wasn’t an in-house decision and if do it stinks

So the board at the Gold Coast factored that in and decided better to cut him now

The players will therefore have plenty of time to get over it and be committed to their preseason and ready to tackle Round 1 2024

Players re-signed because of him.

I acknowledge that but what is your point? Are you suggesting a mass exodus?

Remember our players when GT was sacked? A lot were pissed off and some took a while to get over it, but they were contracted and had no choice

Then they should have had it as a clause in their contracts.

What's next? Clauses that if a physio or water carrier is sacked the players contract is void?
