He triggered the clause by playing injured.
Same thing we did to Carlisle.
Why?
Because our options are thin and he was already cut in pay and not likely to have significant trade or compensation value.
Hopefully he has a good year.

Good

He’ll reach 200 games which he richly deserves

I wish I was StKs worst ever Captain, Dual B&F and 200 gamer!!!

Not that he even is

At his best 2006-2019 - quality AFL player
At his worst - solid contributor

A great servant of the club AND game.

Is Bytel any good is what is more topical than Sebs new contract.

No pressure Jack, are you a spud or a 200 gamer?

Can you shine against North this week who are without question the worst football team the competition has seen in a very long time.

No pressure Jack but time to put up or get delisted.

Happy to have Seb continue. Very good player. Suspect he may have been carrying something last few weeks.

Seb will still be ranked in our top 5 mids next year.

Unfortunately, Steele, Crouch and Bytel don't add much different.

We need Sinclair to increase his purchase on mid time.
We need Clark to stay healthy.
We need to find out if Owens can indeed play midfield.

We need a Dal Santo type skilled mid, with Gresham's attack on the ball, instead of Gresham.

We need Windhager Phillipou and NWM to continue to learn positional craft before entering the midfield full time.

Seb just needs to stay fit and be flexible.

Over the years, he has proven himself a tad better than that.

But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Yes I agree
Look at the last final we played
It could be said he was our best player
However it could also be said that Richmond were happy for him to get alot of ball as they knew he wouldn't hurt them with his ball use

Pretty fair resume for a GOP

Hate to see how you rank others if Seb is ordinary

Not GOP but OGP. We've had a few. Nothing wrong with Seb's career. He never really held back, just eased up a little. He was a bull when he got going and maintained that level for a good span. I guess our forward delivery standards say more than what I could about our main contributors and acceptable standards, over the last decade.
Seb could have been a great of the game bar for one thing, no scoreboard pressure. But wind him up and he just kept going. He was a dominant ball hunter for a while amd didnt mind getting into position to get his own.
Fit, he is still valuable.

Restecpah!! ( That's from an Ali G film)

He's been a role model and leader. He's served the club honourably and will be playing his 200th at some stage next year

haha

yep

matters not what kind of player he has been in years past

matters now

our midfield is bottom four

we said no to Matt Crouch

former AA
former Best n Fairest

why?

we know what he brings, now (as it were)

and it wasn't deemed to be enough

Seb is a pro

in every sense i can see

he may learn to kick flat n sharp, but probably not

but hell still get plenty of it, and stay fit

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!
