Even if we make finals now with some results going our way, it could well cost us a home final and we have to play in Sydney.

If we miss finals now, I would think we would be the first team ever to miss with 13 wins.

In addition if it had just been a 22 match season like is usually the case, we would now be playing a home final first up.

The AFL had no trouble overturning the StK-Freo draw which cost us a place in the top four and a double chance (and possibly GT's job).

Now what was written up as a 99.9% chance of making finals (if we beat Geelong) has just become a very real possibility of missing finals on 13 wins.

We'll lose percentage if/when we lose to Brisbane in Brisbane -- the hardest assignment in footy.

Bulldogs are every chance of beating an unmotivated Geelong.

Sydney are every chance of beating Melbourne at the SCG.

GWS can beat the overrated Carlton (for whom the game might be a dead rubber anyway).

I don’t get this POV. Do you really think that this is an apples to apples comparison?

The Saints v Freo game was overturned because the siren sounded with Freo ahead and an extra 60s was added on that saw us level the score. Not that I agree with it (IMO the result stands) but there was a definitive spot to end the game with no what could have happened next query about it.

Let’s turn around and say the AFL declares that the Adelaide goal now counts…
What happens to the last 80s of the game? Who’s to say that Sydney couldn’t have kicked a winner in that time?

The only correct way to play this is to replay the last 80s from the centre square bounce which should have been done on the night.
