Read my lips

For those jumping to conclusions:-

1) R. Clarke and Gilbert turning into 6 foot 2 plus running mid-fielders

2) Watts and Brooks sit behind Roo, Kosi and Gehrig, a pretty formidable trio

3) In line for promotion this week are R. Clarke, Voss and Birss.

4) The Fremantle rucks (Whoever and whoever) are each getting 20 odd posessions a game

Before jumping to conclusions, read what the coach is saying.

As an extension to 4), I am unaware of the size of Fremantle's rucks, but have read some where that they are more mobile mid-sized followers - and Lyon does not want them contributing 20 odd possessions to their team - hence the specific match ups which are typical of Lyon and his coaching staff.

kosi in the ruck should make the accountable...a few goals form kosi in the first quarter would tighten them up from tall followers to a bit of a tagging ruckman if kosi could have one of those days he is all so capable of having

Good analysis. I hope that the tactics work out.

To clarify, earlier this week, before selection on Thursday night, the coach listed those whose form had them in contention for promotion this week - and named the 3 who were, in fact, promoted.

Savvy?

So how much notice is taken of what the coach actually says?

Because it is pretty relevant I would think!
