big statement to put the childs life on it, i will hold you to it

as for the subject, doesn't surprise me as many have surpassed him in importance in the eagles midfield and he even struggled to come back after injury at a stage earlier in the season.

He is an above average midfielder but in a rolls royce midfield, his talent is not fulfilled.

... for the Eagles' end-of-season trip, and won't take no for an answer.

Will put Winmarvellous's child's life on it.

Well, he was out.

For a long time, I believe, and in Los Vegas too.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Turning 28 in two weeks.

Quite a good midfielder, but has been out of favour for much of the year due to the emergence of players like Priddis and Rosa.

only 28! wow...thought he was a few years over that.

Worth a 2nd-3rd round pick.

Would be in our 22 for sure.

was 3rd in 2003 b&f and 2nd in 2004 so he c an play a bit.

3rd in 2003 with Gardiner gifting the ball to him in the ruck.

Wouldnt mind seeing that again!

Love those penetrating left foot kicks of his.

And doesn't mind a goal or two, which is ideally what we would love most of our midfielders doing on a consistent basis.

we need fast midfielders and tough enforcer midfielders

whilst a good player I don't think he excells at either categories

Our third round pick, definitely. Maybe a late 2nd if we could get our hands on one.

I'd love to see him with us. He'd have a massive, massive point to prove in 2008 to show he's still got it.

seems to be more in the fiora mould with slightly more class and a bit more toughness, having said that i would still welcome him to the club should it not:

a) jeapordise the development of younger mids i.e armo, mini

b) come at an expensive price i.e higher than late 2nd round pick or a GOP.

spot on. i rate him pretty highly, and at a new club he would have an agenda to show the eagles he shoukd not be overlooked.

Depends on the circumstance, Dan.

An All-Australian with something to prove who's wages will be low and available for a lowly pick, well below his potential value?

Has pace, great disposal and would walk into our first 22?

Gimme gimme gimme that thing.

But if you're saying we should top up with 33-year old midfielders who are finished, then no, that would be stupid.

Case by case is the key. There's no blanket rule. By and large, go for youth, but if the case warrants it, exceptions can be made.
