Best game he's played this year and he just seemed to fly under the radar, he was ferocious at the ball for the first half, I'd be interested to know how many inside 50's he had because every time he had it in the centre he would belt it forward.

Anyone else see Lenny hold his knee after a tackle? I was worried but he played the game out.....but then I remembered the last time he did his knee he also played the game out!

yeah lenny has been our best and most consistent midfielder for years.

also he isn't a front runner, he is a tackle king, and mr 1% as well (if someone else is going for the ball, he will wall shield them to shepherd)

its amazing how well we progressed in 06 in his absence.

his quality around the ground is awesome.

he along with ball and v2 are probably are most natural footballers in that they know instinctively the best option.

Yeah, I saw that incident Munga, kept my eye on him (as I do) & he seemed to still be running ok for the rest of the game. Just getting better & better each week, his clearances out of any ruck contest have been great & 7 inside 50's. Kicking accuracy has improved as the season has progressed too.

not back to his best yet but after big pre-season will be ... lacks a yard of pace still (was quicker before the injury) and his kicking is struggling

AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

Some of his kicks into the forward 50 have been bang on target. Watch the replays if you don't believe my biased opinion.

that is my exact point - 'some of his kicks were on target'........in all honesty, his kicking efficiency is rank......not taking away from his effort, he has a real crack, always will......

actually we seemed to turn over the ball a lot.

we just kept attacking over and over and over again.

also when we did turn the ball over, it was generally in their D50 our F50 and we pressured them.

in other games we seem to have a heap of sweet possessions uncontested then turn the ball over in the midfield or just outside our D50.

we took more risks as mentioned previously and while many were rebounded, we did plenty to score.

note they kicked a swag of goals too, but we trusted our forwards.

IIRC (i.e. going from memory of the games themselves and not from stats), prior to the injury, his disposal was pretty good. Had the knack for finding the perfect line to run to get just enough space to make an unpressured kick or handball.

Since the knee, while he still finds that line, it's like he doesn't quite complete it, and the kicks just don't find their targets the same way.

My memory could well be coloured - before the injury in '06 was in career best form. Certainly remember that early in his career he was a turnover king (of course, look who he was playing with...)

It's hard to give a BOG against someone who kicks 8 goals, but Lenny would have come mighty close.

he had 7 inside 50's 3 clearances and two clangers, so whoever said he doesnt hit targets is not quite correct

i thought given what seemed to be break neck speed for much of the game, especially after harvey and to a lesser degree ball were off injuried it was a marvellous effort.

Also given that I dont think we had any 30 plus possession getters, it was a great team effort.

and finally it seemed to be, Lenny and V2 would be right up there for shepherds and other 1%ers.

i got to the car in time for harvey's interview.

jeez he was channelling hte spirit of connelly with a whinge.

'we didn't get to train on TD' (even WE dont get to train at TD), we didn't get goaling kicking practice and thats why we kicked innaccurately (pretty sure they shanked a few shots from DEAD in front, you dont need frikken goal kicking practice to miss from 30m dead in front

stuck pig whining I thought.

I was kind of impressed with harvey's attitude, He survived a number of injuries to percevere froa 200 game plus career over 15 odd years, gutsy player, couragious, and more than ready for a fight, or making a forward 'earn their mark'.

but as a coach = cuddles.

whingy whiney complaining deadbeat.

while cuddles was pathetic after a few seasons at freo, right from day 1 harvey is crap.

was worried if freo got a good coach, but with harvey there, all is well!
