2008 team - early bid!

Post: # 448589Post fugazi »

B: L.Fisher.............Max..........Baker
HB: Sam Fisher....Goose........Goddard
C: Gram...........Hayes...........Fiora
HF: X.Clarke.......Roo.............Gilbert
F: Milne..............Kosi..........Raph Clarke
R: Gardiner, Ball , Dal Santo
I/C: Birss, Watts, Blake, Harvey
EMG: Armitage, Allen, Rix

Is there any point in listing Hamill...the forgotten man of football?

Thommo, Gehrig, M.Clarke, Raymond, Gwilt, McQualter (sad to say!) and possibly Voss and Hamill

IMO - recruit kids only thru draft unless exceptional available....look at Gilbert pick #33...we'll get 10 years from him.

Well Baker will be out for half the season almost.

Maguire needs to work on his fitness, notcied yesterday more than all year, that he is struggling to run which is a result of hardly been able to train because of that broken leg.

Swap Raph and X around.

I hope Goddard comes back and picks up from where he left off..... and Kosi and Gardiner in the ruck moving forward could potentially be a good combo.

If Gardiner and Goddard are both playing round 1, i'll be very impressed.

I think Raph can only play down back. Looks lost in the forward line.

SEN reported today that Gardiner's foot problem is 100% fixed & he will be ready to start pre season with everyone else.

BJ said to a few people near us last week that he will be ready to go as well.

FB: Hudghton Hudghton Ferguson
HB: Goddard Maguire S.Fisher
C: Montagna Dal Santo Gram
HF: R.Clarke Roo Gilbert
FF: X.Clarke Kosi Milne
R: Gardiner Ball Hayes
I/C: Birss Armitage Harvey Watts
Emg: Fiora Blake Allen
Reserves: Brooks Rix Gwilt Howard Eddy Geary Van Rheenan
Time To Go: Fraser Thompson Raymond Mcqualter Jones Voss

That is not a bad looking team at all, I would say that team will be a top 6 side, not expecting much more as optimistic as I may be... Blake and Fiora are unlucky not to keep their spots but I believe we should persist with Armitage over Fiora because he really can't do any worse and go Watts over Blake.

I still believe that this is a good list and expect big improvements from Birss and the Clarke brothers aswell as Gilbert, don'tworry we are still on the up and up especially when Baker and Attard get back.... all is not lost!!

Any room for Van Rheenen on the senior list, or should we wait a bit longer and put him on the list if and when we need him to play seniors?

I really hope this guy makes the grade. He's a huge guy - a genuine monster in the size of Darren Jolly and Steven King. If I was in the saints coaching panel, I'd be putting an enormous anmount of time and energy into this guy's development.

B: L Fisher, Hudghton, S Fisher
HB: Gram, Maguire, Goddard
C: Gilbert, Fiora, Dal Santo
HF: Montagna, Riedwolt, X Clarke
F: Milne, Koschitzke, Hamill

Foll: Gardiner, Hayes, Ball

IC - Blake, Baker, Harvey, R Clarke
Emer - Armitage, Allen, Watts

Add in a couple of draftee's and maybe an experienced player from another club or two and I cannot see any reason why this side can't make the top four at least next year. Very disapointed with this season, but you can't blame the coach, injuries, umpiring or the players....I guess there was just a few to many players on this team that shouldn't have been there (Ahem! Gwilt, Birss etc...) Hopefully 08 is the year of the Saints.

Give Brooks ONE more year to prove himself up forward and rucking.

Kosi, Gardiner and Brooks to rotate. If brooks and Gardiner can get up for it not too bad an option.

If they rotate a 3rd each quarter i reckon it might be alright!

Heard something very similar AE. He reckoned that he should be running at full pace by the beginning of pre-season and should be participating in full training by early Jan - plenty of time to build up his base fitness for Round 1 :P

Something a bit left field (I gotta say that game where Goddard took 14 marks and kicked 2 goals early in the season was the best impersonation of Reiwoldt ever)

B: L.Fisher........Sam Fisher..........Max
HB: R. Clarke....Goose................X Clarke
C: Gram...........Hayes................Gilbert
HF: hamill.........Goddard..............V2
F: Milne...............Roo...............Armitage/Geary/Eddy
R: Kosi, Ball , Dal Santo
I/C: Fiora, Watts, Gardiner, Harvey
EMG: , Blake , Brooks, Birss

Baker phased in later and blake for hamill if he doesn't come up.

Five of 22 rounds isn't exactly almost half the season.

Isn't the preseason game part of the deal also...depending on how far into we travel?

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Nope, preseason games don't count towards suspension, and if you get done in the preseason you miss AFL games.
